Afterall... most celebrities don't run around saving animals and making people happy and getting people into animals... right? Most celebrities are in movies, tv shows, or are just rich and selfish and people obsessed over them for no apparent reason.

Because I had already agreed with you. Let's face it, the brainless celebrity culture which our American media has lovingly crafted for us, is repulsive. Thankfully Steve Irwin never let himself become a part of it. Though...he was in front of the cameras, which technically makes him a celebrity...although he NEVER acted like your stereotypical Hollywood jerk.

Steve Irwin wasn't in front of the camera to be there. He was there to show us animals, how they really are and not how some people wants us to believe. He did it with such a passion and happiness that it was just "gorgeous" to watch him, jumping off a rock and kneeling down right next to the most venomous snake of the world...to show us that they aren't agressive monsters that'll hunt for you. The camera, better said the TV, was just the best way to reach our minds and hearts, no matter where we actually live. Oh the tears....I have to stop.

^Exactly.
It's human nature that if we are interested in something, we begin to love it, and anything we love we want to help and save.
That's what Steve helped to do.
Has anyone seen Happy Feet yet? It says the same thing, basically. Such a great, cute movie.... and it was dedicated to Steve too.
