This is a special repost of a rant I made here on September 6th, 2008.
Fight For Five Fails (aka, FFFF)
Oh yeah, I'm going there. I don't want a 5th season, and I am going to tell you why over the course of this rant, which will likely make some of you upset.
I have several reasons for not wanting a 5th season, some are opinion, some are fact. First off, as of right now, many people who worked on it are now scattered over different projects, doing new things. I don't know about you, but I'd want as many of the original people working on it as possible (pun unintended). I've noticed, when the executives just replace someone, it usually makes the show implode on itself. I don't want that to happen.
Secondly, I don't think a 5th season would turn out to be very good. In my opinion, the 3rd season was the pinnacle of the series. The 4th season was great, but it wasn't as good as the 3rd, and a 5th season would continue the slide downhill. And with some of you talking about going for an 8th season, well, now you're just pushing it. Plus, I think it looked like they were kind of fumbling for ideas, and occasionally didn't have a clear idea of what they were trying to do (see Cap'n Drakken).
Finally, I've noticed a trend with TV shows: when they make a huge setting change, the show suffers a lot. In a 5th season, they would be going to college. Not to mention, Drakken and Shego would no longer be villains (and they would be a couple... ugh). Then there's Ron, who has helped change the focus of the show already, and it seems like they would yet again need to write themselves out of a corner to account for his newfound mastery of MMP. Plus, how do you top an alien invasion in a show like this? So we would have a whole bunch of major changes, which would, in my opinion, shatter the fundamentals of the show, making it a hollow shell of itself. In other words, it would jump the shark.
This is why I think we should not meddle in this anymore. It was great while it lasted, but, to use a cliche, all good things must come to an end. Stop the insanity! I don't want to look back at Kim Possible and cringe when the 5th season comes up.

Many of you think your email campaign is working. I'm here to tell you: it's probably not. In fact, I'm 95% certain that they have your emails in a spam filter. That's right. They probably don't even see them anymore. Also, I've seen you say you don't want to spam them. The problem is, even one email a day is still spam. Why do you think you guys got kicked out of the Global Justice Alliance? They didn't want to harbor a spam operation.
As for the fortune cookies and the like you send them? They either a) throw them away or b) donate them to a food bank or something if they don't expire. And there are not thousands of you. How could there be when there are only 2542 members on rs.net, and only a few hundred are active? There are a hand-full at most. And the boxsets? There were probably plans for them before the FFF really even started. And they released them because the German fans are crazy for KP, not because of anything you guys did. They might release here, but you never know (don't get me wrong, I want boxsets).
This is not an attack. This is straight up truth, with some opinions mixed in. A repost of an earlier rant, with some extra thrown in to justify it.
Stay frosty.
