It's almost here. It draws nearer each day. A moment that will change the world forever. I talk about the end of Hannah Montana. We all know. Next year, the series is coming to an end. And as you all you know, it is the longest series currently running on Disney. No doubt when it ends, it's going to create quite a void. Since it has such popularity, it won't just affect Disney, but a lot of other channels too as they won't have such competition to deal with. If I'm correct, with that show gone, I believe the doors will be open for the return of a bunch of shows we all know and love. In other words, prepare yourselves, because the world is going to change.

So, in 50 years...
Hannah Montana will be in history books?
This makes me sad.

In books on TV history, at least. Like The Monkees is featured in them today. Maybe. Anyhoo, no more Hannah, you say... This is YES, regardless! ;D I'd be curious to see what, eventually, will take her place, too. There's probably going to be some trial and error for a while tho. Everybody brace themselves for worse crap!!! D8 I do enjoy your candid optimism, btw.

It's sad for Hannah Montana fans. I'm not exactly sorry, but I'm not a big fan of Disney's live action shows.

Hey, I'm only stating the obvious. Remember, before Hannah Montanna it was That's So Raven. Before that it was Lizzie McGuire. Don't blame me if this whole thing ends up holding true to pattern.

Who the hell is Hannah Montana?
Sounds like some kind of high priced prostitute.

The way I see it, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney Channel begins (1) buying programming from "outside" suppliers like Warner Bros. or 20th Century Fox, and (2) "rebrands" (renames) itself, calling themselves "ABC Teen" or something. It could even end up being a dual-format channel much the likes of Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, or Cartoon Network/Adult Swim. While I have hopes the end of HM will mean that Disney will rethink their attitude about animated programming on Disney Channel (including the return of you-know-who), I'm not holding my breath for that to happen. Because of the expense and time issues in producing animation for television ($250,000+ per episode, and nine-month turnaround time), I believe that save for shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy, television animation may be a dying breed. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Disney ultimately decides to get rid of their television animation division. But, I'm not all gloom and doom here. The one hope for viewing original Disney animation outside of theaters is cartoons made expressly for online distribution. I think that's where the growth area in the animation industry lies, and if I was Disney, I'd be taking advantage of it. Perhaps there can be new KP episodes made expressly made for online viewing (not to mention Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Duck Tales, etc.)

I'm a bit surprised. It's been well over two weeks since the final episode of Hannah Montana showed, and no one on this site has made any mention of it. Anyway, with this show gone, Disney now has a huge void in it. To any FFKP members out there that are still fighting, I believe it would be wise to take advantage of this void on the 7th.

The new live action shows on TDC don't apple to me at all.
A dance based show, two guy playing dummies on a island, another teen show that the parents are stupid with a baby.
I like Sonny with a Chance, Wizards..., even Suite Life on Deck has gotten some good writers, but the last two are scheduled to end this year.
I wonder what TDC will look like in 12 months.

I wonder what TDC will look like in 12 months. Largely unchanged, maybe three or four new live action shows for people to complain about being popular. A few older shows will be pushed off the schedule, starting with the older animated ones. Is Emperor's New School still on anymore? If so I wouldn't bet on it being on for much longer. P&F, depending on whether or not it can stay strong and consistent in the ratings will likely keep it's time, though I can't say that I would rule out it's being moved (not canceled) for the sake of a new show. They'll still milk the re-runs for all they're worth. Probably for more than they're worth too... Oh well that just goes without saying. This is Di$ney we're talking about here.

I get the feeling by news stories about F&P that the head of TDC wants to make F & P into Disney's Sponge Bob.
The head came from Nickelodeon, so one can put the pieces together.
