I just heard the Avril Lavene song "When Your Gone" and it made me think what songs make you cry? They arn't sappy love songs like that old one "What might have been" But more or so just subtle songs that make you teary eyed. What are yours?

Farewell - Apocalyptica ^- Easily the saddest instrumental I've ever heard. The Sign - Sentiment Remembrance - Sentiment ^- When I think about KP's end, these songs come to mind. The Beautiful Ones - Poets of the Fall ^- The first song that had ever made my eyes mist. Very touching. Remorse - Lovex ^- Very sad song about making the mistake of giving up on a relationship. If Kim/Ron were to (heaven forbid) break up in the series, this would sum it up perfectly. All of these songs are "must listens" if you're into emotionally powerful instrumentation and lyricism.

Tool "Wings For Marie"/"10,000 Days"
You... You believed ... You believed in movements none could see. You believed in me
A passionate spirit Uncompromised Boundless and open A light in your eyes Then immobilized.
Broken Fell at the hands of those movements that I wouldn't see Yet it was you who prayed for me. So what have I done To be a son to an angel? What have I done To be worthy?
Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescents Difficult to see you in this light Please forgive this selfish question, but What am I to say to all these ghouls tonight? "She never told a lie, ... well might have told a lie, But never lived one. Didn't have a life, Didn't have a life, But surely saved one." See? I'm alright Now it's time for us to let you go.
Listen to the tales and romanticize, How we'd follow the path of the hero. Boast about the day when the rivers overrun. How we rise to the height of our halo.
Listen to the tales as we all rationalize Our way into the arms of the savior, Feigning all the trials and the tribulations; None of us have actually been there. Not like you.
Ignorant siblings in the congregation Gather around spewing sympathy, Spare me. None of them can even hold a candle up to you. Blinded by choice, these hypocrites won't see.
But, enough about the collective Judas. Who could deny you were the one who Illuminated your little piece of the divine?
And this little light of mine, a gift you passed on to me; I'm gonna let it shine to guide you safely on your way, Your way home ...
Oh, what are they going to do when the lights go down Without you to guide them all to Zion? What are they going to do when the rivers overrun Other than tremble incessantly?
High is the way, but all eyes are upon the ground. You were the light and the way they'll only read about. I only pray, Heaven knows when to lift you out. Ten thousand days in the fire is long enough; You're going home.
You're the only one who can hold your head up high, Shake your fists at the gates saying: "I've come home now! Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father. Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended. It's time now! My time now! Give me my, give me my wings!"
You are the light and way that they will only read about.
Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance, (With the) burden of proof tossed upon the believers. You were my witness, my eyes, my evidence, Judith Marie, unconditional one.
Daylight dims leaving cold fluorescents. Difficult to see you in this light. Please forgive this bold suggestion, but Should you see your Maker's face tonight, Look Him in the eye, look Him in the eye, and tell Him: "I never lived a lie, never took a life, but surely saved one. Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home."
It's such a great song. It also brings a tear to my eye everytime.

Cancer - My Chemical Romance it's a song about how Cancer patients suffer through their last few days .. It's especially touching when the Singer sings it live during concerts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPclm71K788Turn away, If you could get me a drink, Of water cause my lips are chapped and faded. Call my Aunt Marie. Help her gather all my things, And bury me in all my favorite colors. My sisters and my brothers still, I will not kiss you.
'Cause the hardest part of this, Is leaving you.
Now turn away, Cause I'm awful just to see. Cause all my hair's abandoned all my body, Oh, my agony. Know that I will never marry. Baby, I'm just soggy from the chemo, But counting down the days to go. It just ain't living. And I just hope you know, That if you say goodbye today, I'd ask you to be true.
'Cause the hardest part of this, Is leaving you.
'Cause the hardest part of this, Is leaving you.[/i]

Get it right Yvj, It's Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" ;D I'm sure you know Trent Reznor wrote it and Cash covered it. I love this song. A few of the band members went to Michigan State. They were formed in Kalamazoo.

Hurt is actually a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song. Trouble Sleeping - Perisherso This song is about feeling as if your needs are unimportant in a relationship, and everything you do is to make things better for someone else and you never get what you need. Nohting in My Way - Keaneo Song about someone masking pain with humor, and never allowing anyone to see their feelings. It's how someone can make themselves percieved as healthy and happy, and never get the help they need. A Bad Dream - Keaneo Like ALOT of Keane songs, it's lyrically a very defeated song. It has alot of pessimistic, self-loathing, self-defeated lyrics. Hands Clean - Alanis Morissetteo About one of Alanis's relationships when she was younger with a MUCH older man. Talks about how it was kept secret from everyone they knew and references comments he'd make that led her to some eating disorder issues. Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie o Honestly I don't know what this song is about, but the lines 'I need you so much closer' repeated gets to me...it just does, lol. Skyline Pigeono About a person bed ridden in the hospital wishing they could spend their last moments alive actually living life instead of cooped up in their bed waiting for they day they die. My Immortal - Evanesence o You've all probably seen the video and the song is pretty self-explanitory, but isn't it SO freaking SAD!!!!Bed Shaped - Keaneo Again Keane is talking about some messed up relationship that hints things about dependant personality type situations. Time - Pink Floyd o About time passing by too quickly, and when you think you have plenty of time you waste in until you're playing catch up, but it's too late. Damaged - Plummeto Basically...about rape and feeling ashamed and confused etc etc. Really it's this video that made me like the song. Normally I don't care for storylines that are so intense, but I actually thought it was good... so shoot me! How Soon is Now - The SmithsoAbout how hard it is to find someone who loves you the way you desire to be loved, with some homosexual undertones about how gay people deserve to be loved just like anyone else does, and how it is not wrong to want love. Right Here - Staind o Another song about a relationship in which one person is dependant on the other no matter how badly they are treated, and yet somehow they know their partner, no matter how cruel, somehow won't leave them... .is it just me or is there a pattern with my sad song choice themes? lol.Mad World - Gary Jules o If you want a REALLY sad song to listen to and you haven't heard this song...look no further.... November - Azure Ray o A person realizing they're almost okay with being alone, but being afraid of this realization and of living their life so isolated and just generally slipping into depression with their aimless thoughts and etc...etc... gawd, I could go on...and on and on...I love music!
