I'd just like to say in honor of this episode, I've been writing a lot of things down on 3 by 5 cards lately and it really helps! ;D

Good episode. Ron seemed really sweet in this episode. plus it show us how long that they had been dating at that point.

I SWEAR to the lord Jesus Christ I wrote a fanfic with a similar storyline to Clean Slate before season 4 started!
In the story Kim got into an accident and went into a coma then when she woke up she remembered everything except Ron, they go through memory lane (there was even a part where Kim remembered Bueno Nacho!) and eventually a moment triggered Kim's memory of him!
But I deleted it a long time ago cuz I though it was stupid, darn, I coulda sued Disney!
lol j/k but still, its kinda freaky...

No, I'm just saying you're not the only one who wrote a fanfic with a similar plot/storylne to Clean Slate even before Season 4.

I just rewatched this recently, and I remember I was on pins and needles leading up to this episode. Due to the odd and somewhat misleading hints we got (READ: Kim "breaks up with" Ron, Lather Rinse Obey, etc.) I was expecting an episode with a return to season 1's more evil characterization of Drakken, with the good doctor realizing what Shego did in ASiT, and breaking them up. Mind controlling KP to cause it. More drama, less funny. Man, how wrong I was. Drakken in this eppie was less threatening than any other episode, save STG, and I ended up loving the whole Retard!Kim thing we saw. Still a 5/5.

When working on Clean Slate I had high hopes for it. We had had earlier storiy ideas where one of the characters had their memory wiped out (usually Ron) but none of those stories seemed to have a strong emotional arc. It wasn't until season 4 where Kim and Ron had started dating that it made sense. Ron and Kim had struggled through three seasons to find each other and then when Kim's memory is erased, Ron loses her. Plus all the stuff with Drakken and the note cards was a lot of fun.
Rockets are go!

I saw this episode again not to long ago, and my opinion on it being an average episode hasn't changed. It's has some really good animation by Rough Draft Korea but the episode felt like they were going through the motions (Drakken caused his downfall, boy don't see that every episode ). Though Kim telling Ron that she loved him was a nice ending. Other Notes: -Drakken's note card gag was funny at first, but it became a joke that they had beaten into the ground until it was no longer funny. Sometimes less really is more. -The climax being at a train setting, we saw that in Mother's Day. Here they were repeating themselves.

Have to agree with the Mehhhh voters. Went with a lot of the predictable jokes as opposed to the hallmark quick whit of the show's more memorable episodes. As for the train setting... well, after 86 episodes, I'd say it's hard for anyone doing a show set on earth to find new and unique locales.
Worse though... Kim turned into a babbling idiot by losing her memory? I mean, come on, eating the flowers and playing dress up like that with her brothers, then trying to give money to someone she knows has just robbed a bank? Might have been amusing gags, but that's really all they were, gags, and bad ones IMhO. cringe-worthy ones from the point of view of character integrity *shrugs* but then again, I'm not the target audience for the show, so I suppose it's understandable.

I'd have gone with Brainwipe!Kim instead of Retard!Kim. That's less degrading. I also think that whoever gives a 1/5 or 2/5 is should be obligated to give reasons. If something about this episode REAAAALLLY grinds your beans, tell us. We won't condemn you for it. Just cause it's good doesn't mean you have to enjoy watching it. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes though did anyone else notice that Kim and Ron take a flying leap off a crashing airship and are standing placidly on the hillside the next minute. Their pushing our suspension of disbelief a little I think. Great one-liners in this 5/5
