plus, as south park once said "Simpsons did it" they have done EVERYTHING Judging from the spoilers, I think they could have modified the plot A LOT more. I mean this is basically down to the letter, the same plot.

Hey, I peek in after a few weeks to see we are being accused of plagerism. Yikes!
Let me just say - and I know some may choose to believe the worst - I've never seen that episode of the Simpsons. In fact, I'm about 9 seasons behind on my Simpsons viewing. Looking forward to the movie though.
I honestly think that after 400 episodes, as South Park lamented, it's a miracle more plots aren't dead on with something they did. And, given the parameters of the old amnesia plot, I think the Simpson's plot that was described could probably be also found in any number of the 60's and 70's sitcoms all of us writers grew up on. That's when I was really watching too much television and thus, it's probably the real source of some of the plot ideas.

Yeah, the plots are not that similar. Plus, there are some plots that are just common. Like switching brains, then walking a mile in each other's shoes and learning to appreciate each other more. Tons of shows have done that before KP. It's not copying. It's just.....going with the classics! Amnesia being one of the classic plotlines. Anyway I'm sorry about that Bob! It pains me to see you feeling accused like that.

The amnesia idea, in comedy. goes back to 50s vintage I Love Lucy episodes. Probably to the days of radio shows. Given the history, plagiarism seems pretty unlikely.

I never meant to imply that it was plagiarism. I mean, the Simpsons has done everything by now, anyway. I was just trying to make sure that my understanding of the episode was correct.
