God, only knows.
I'm guessing this episode was only so popular based on certain moments (the kiss) then any actual merit (or lack there of) the story has.
[glow=red,2,300]But then again were talking about Disney Channel whose (ugghhh) core audience is attracted to the sugar coated high school melodrama bs.[/glow]
Homecoming Upset is a stupid episode that I would rather forget, it's one of those episodes that sometimes makes you embarassed to be a fan of the show.
If Bonnie did something to redeem herself at the end, it might have been worthwhile. But she didn't, so it's not.
I mean why should anyone rank an episode highly, that centers around a one dimensional character, who acts like a stuck up b*%#h for 22 minutes? Why should anyone empathize with Bonnie at all in this episode?
Are these even questions the VIPS/writers sat down and asked themselves when they wrote this?
I believe the answer to your questions is in your own post, bolded, underlined and highlighted.
Considering that Bob & Mark have usually prided themselves on making cartoons that kids and adults can enjoy, I don't buy that.
The episode itself just aims for the lowest denominator in terms of audience, (i.e. the disney channel "core audience" :. I always thought that they were above that. At least I hope they are.
I hope the vips didn't make this episode thinking that Bonnie was an interesting character (just because she has *shudders* fans), because Bonnie has never been anything but a one dimensional b*%#h for 95% of the series.
