Congrats on getting a new game system (that's always a good thing).
I'm not gonna rain on your parade, but I gotta ask, isn't the Wii the anti-gamers platform? I mean you actually have to move, isn't that counter productive for what games were designed from? I mean when I play games I either want to sit with a controller in hand and just have to move my thumbs (and trigger fingers for newer consoles) or sit at a computer with one hand on a mouse (the most movement any game should require IMO) and the other on a keyboard. Just curious what the allure is for the Wii?

Is basketball not a game? Is baseball not a game? Is football not a game?
These require quite a bit of movement. Or are you going to argue that they are "sports" and thus not the same thing?
Well... what about charades? Ever played Cranium? That game is amazing. Even a game of chess requires more movement than you would find in your common video game. Are these not, then, games?
Also, I don't see what's wrong with getting America off of its collective fat a** and getting at least a tiny bit of exercise, even if it is minimal. Furthermore... Wii is fun!
Or have you also forgotten that games are supposed to be fun?

Yep, I go for the Fun Factor and realy the Wii blew me away. So reason I wanted it. (don't have a reason to waste $600 on the new playstation yet. (other then the need of a cheap blu-ray disc player. )
And the exercise thing, yeah the #1 reason I wanted it. ( no room for a DDR mat in my room and also my luck, I'd fall thru the floor doing that (yes I admit I'm a big fella though th epic from the con of me shoulda told folk that) so, the Wii was the easy bet for me. )
And probably will do that with the RN.net work. Just when get it all hooked up an all.

I'm just of the school that if I want exercise I'll go find something to do, I use video games to relax and have fun (yes, I find playing games fun, I haven't forgotten that ). Maybe the Wii is more fun than it looks, I guess I'll have to try it before I completely blow it off.

You need to do Wii Sports bowling with a couple of friends. Also, WarioWare: Smooth Moves. (Again, with a few friends.) Granted, WarioWare will make you look like a complete fool. But all in good fun! And I highly recommend Zelda, if you need some single player gaming. Also, if you want a less "movement intensive" type game. You aren't going to be jumping out of your seat or anything while playing Zelda. Not all games are like that.

Congratulations, liokaiser! You've made a wonderful gaming purchase and will have a lot of fun with it as well. As Fusion Fox said, be sure to drop a line in the thread he mentioned to add your friend code, once you get it from your console that is. Another thing I like to mention (WARNING: Shameless promo) is that I'm busy working on a proboards forum for Wii owners and those that are interested in the Wii. It's moving along at a snail's pace, but I feel that if we get more members, things will take off. Just thought I'd let you know. Once again, congratulations on your purchase!

Well a few mentioned are possible, Zelda is a given, Smash Brothers Brawl will be a dead set buy for me. I'm just waiting to see on what tv I should hook it up on really. Love to put it on our Big Screen tv (flat) I dunno if I have the room to really play in my room though.
