Alright guys, not a lot of time to write this one, so it's gonna have to be short.
I've decided to take these in a new direction. For now, at least. Rather then just making one long winded post, I'm going to state my opinion on the subject (Global Warming) and then let everyone have at it. Plus, since my own argument here is admitably weak, I'd like a chance to see those faults pointed out.
Also, since I've been gone for about... a week or so, I'm not certain if this is the right area to post this. Me being so used to the old way of things and all...
Nightspade's Rant #19: Now it's Real?
Global Warming has recently been 'proven' by a world conference. Or at least proven to be 'likely to be caused by humanity'. Now, I have not read the report (...I believe in honesty before credibility) but I do know this. Experts from many countries around the Globe were involved in this study, including the US.
The Bush administration's stance on Global Warming is now a mystery. And I now have to say that Global warming might be real, instead of my usual 'there's no proof'.
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant to say 'Global Climate Change'. Or GCC, for short.
(Can anyone fill me [and others] in on the evidence supporting that human involvement is to blame? Until then, my argument will go as follows.)
The world's climate has been changing for millions of years. Heck, even our atmosphere has undergone drastic changes. during the middle ages, the temperature raised 3 degrees. Then, for a period after, we had a little ice age.
People who believe we're to blame (not all mind you) will point out the radical weather we've been having as of late.
And to them I say, it's the weather. It's never the same every year.
GCC has just as much of a chance of being humanity's fault as the Earth's position to the sun is Xenu's. Yeah, I said it. Come and get me, Scientologists.
This doesn't mean we don't need to be concerned about the environment. Reckless abuse of resources and the land can be costly. But we shouldn't live in fear of something that we may have absolutely no control over.
