Okay, so I'm back.
My grandmother spent most of Saturday morning debating about going. I told her several times, that she wasn't (I was annoyed that she was still debating on the morning of!), and then she decided that she was. Okay, so that's cool. So, we headed out of the house, leaving our dachshund, Hank, home alone for the next few hours. We left our house at 10:30 or so (Hannah Montana was still on ABC Kids; it was the "Hannah forgets song lyrics and Jackson has problems with sugar" episode). We drove to my Aunt Carolyn's house in Odem, Texas, which is less than an hour away, because she was going to be driving as nobody trusts my mom to drive without getting lost. The last time we made this trip, for Christy's brother, about three years ago, I think we got lost! So, we're at her house for about an hour, I get dressed into the clothes I'm wearing to the wedding, and we eat random food throughout the time we're at her house.
So, about 11:30, we leave for San Antonio. And here starts a ton of pictures of the SCENERY ALONE. Give you a chance to see what there is to look at from Odem, Texas to San Antonio! The first picture was taken at 11:46 am yesterday...
Just ten minutes later, even more scenery!
30 minutes later, I think those blue things were BlueBonnets. Hah.
Taken about 2 pm. yep, still on the road! Nothing but grass, the ocassional tree, and some power lines. That's why I had a book along and my iPod with 10.5 hours of songs on it.
Taken at 2:09, and that's the last of the scenery!
By 2:15 ish, we were in San Antonio, and at a church, a Catholic Church, as Christy is Catholic (I don't know if Ray, the groom is Catholic). Here's a picture of a cool statue in the churchyard:
The wedding didn't start until 3, so I took some pictures of the family:
This is Junior, the Bride's uncle. He's gay. LOL. He's so awesome.
This the bride's dad, Dennis.
This is the bride's little brother, Duane (sp?). He got married in that same church, almost 3 years before. I think he got married the day after Phil of the Future premiered.
Ten minutes later, 2:51, I took this picture:
Most of the family, except for my aunt Carolyn, and Uncle Tom were up in the back, and here was my pew. Dustin, who, halfway through the wedding was taken outside my by aunt Leanne, because he was fidgeting. Then, Beach. Then Kat. I love that crazy look on her face. Jay is next, then Leanne, then it was Codi (with the funny headband thing) and then at the end, it is Chad, another one of my cousins.
And, at 3:10, Christy and her father walked down the aisle:
And, Christy and Ray at the altar:
So, the wedding went by cool. They had the added bonus of the Catholic Mass right in the middle of the wedding too. Yay. Can you tell, I enjoyed that? I had a few tears during the vows, but, the fact that 20 minutes before they were actually married, they had the Catholic Mass RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE, just was like, come on! I came for the wedding. I enjoyed what was said by the priest, but that was it. I just wish I could have heard stuff better.
I took this when I was reading the program. Look at the name of one of the groomsmen. Robert Browning. LOL. A dead poet! That made me happy.
I guess the getaway car for the Bride and Groom? I thought it was a cool car. It was a Ford.
A picture of a picture of Christy, the bride. Taken when we got to the reception hall.
The mariachi band! Yay! They were there for a long time singing in spanish!
Oh, look! It's me! In my outfit, with my hair all decked out, and I'm drinking a margarita. I drank that whole thing. As well as a whole glass of iced tea (with TONS of sugar in it) and several sodas. LOL. Yeah.
Beach and Kat. Yay! They came in from Florida and Kat is pregnant and she wasn't drinking or smoking! Hah. Chad is the background to the right. Haha.
Hayden, when we were in the line to get food.
Picture of a picture of the bride and groom.
A picture of yet another scenery of middle-of-nowhere. That was just right outside the reception hall.
The bride and groom!
My grandma, Christy, and my Aunt Carolyn. I love how candid that shot is. LOL.
The last picture of the night. Me with a soda.
And, they had the only dance I got to dance before we had to hit the road. The Grand Wedding March. It was crazy. My partner was Codi, my 9 year old cousin. Jeez. I wanted a hot Hispanic guy. Oh well, it was still fun.
Then, more time in the car. I closed my eyes and rested with my iPod for an hour. An hour into the carride, I laid down on the seat and tried to sleep. We got to Odem, we stopped at my aunt's house to drop her off and for a pit stop, and then we went home. It was 10:15 when we got home. I went to bed at 11. LOL. Good stuff.
