But the way I see it, if you do'nt like the thread and it bothers you to be a part of it, no one is forcing you to be in it. Boards need discussions. Imagine, someone creates a thread like...(just an example!) "Everything else but Kim and Ron is bad!" Then you get a few "Yeah, I agree" posts and that's it already, because the ones, that are bothered by that just stay out. I don't have anything against a GOOD discussion, but sometimes things just get out of hand and sadly I'm sometimes partly responsible.

Well, that wouldn't even be really offensive...it's just kind of stupid. I could give some examples of truly "offensive" thread titles, but I won't, because I know you can think of them on your own.

I join discussions if it's slightly bothersome to me--that's what makes it interesting. But if you truly find it offensive and you truly feel uncomfortable being there, don't be!

But I hope it wasn't directed just to us "sick, disgusting" people, hehe. On the other hand, you can't stay out of every thread because often it isn't THAT obvious how it is about/to what the discussion led and if you get seriously attacked...which IS truly offensive...who would just leave the thread?

True. I know that when I get seriously attacked, I leave nasty replies.

Yeah, I think its one of those where you have to learn to pick and choose your battles. I don't mind most controversial topics, because I am able to learn more about them and learn what other people from other viewpoints have to say about a topic. Maybe I'll learn something new from them that I didn't consider.
But again, as is the rule for any debate. Attack the idea, not the person.
