Okay, as many of you may know (all three of you, ) I've been working at one of my local Ford dealerships as a member of the service area. I was a fluid inspector trying to sell products from a company called BG Products. Well, sales were pretty low since many people's vehicles were good on fluids or were not interested in getting a system flush (even when a fluid, like power steering was VERY dirty) and the dealership was not getting any payback on this. They've discontinued with this and will no longer be doing business with BG.
Where does that leave me, you ask? Well, an opening for their parts delivery has opened up and they've asked me if I was interested. I couldn't refuse since A.) I would be back on the road again as my previous job as a delivery driver, and B.) I'd be unemployed if I refused (NOT GOING THAT ROUTE!). Besides, it'll be good to be back on the road again and moving away from a confined space.
However, there are drawbacks. I have to be getting up around 4-5 in the morning just to be at work at 6-6:30 AM. This is Eastern, American time mind you. And there'll be paperwork, blah, blah, blah. But the main focus on here is time. My time will be very limited now that I'm taking this new position. I can't be on very late at night as I need my sleep during the weekdays. But I'll be here mainly during the weekends.
It may sound like I'm taking a bad turn here, but I'm looking on the positive side on all of this. I'm going to be driving again. I'll be heading out as far as Southern Kentucky (from the center of East Tennessee) and it'll be like a road trip everyday. I'll have my own tunes, and I'll have that independence on the road again that I so desperately missed from my old job. Plus, there may be a raise in order. I'm crossing my fingers on that last one.
I just figured I get this out to let everyone know what's going on with me. A lot of big stuff is coming my way, and I want to face it all head on.
