Well come one, come all to this tragic affair...
Wipe off that make up, what's in it is despair,
So throw on your black dress, mix in with the lot,
You might wake up and notice you're someone you're not.
If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see,
You can find out first hand what's like to be me,
So gather round piggies, and kiss this goodbye,
I encourage your smiles and I expect you won't cry!
Well, it's officially my 3rd .. or 2nd .. Anniversary on RS.net!
I have survived in this place and went through a journey of life changing experiences .. (sort of..).
I rose, and fell, and now, rising once again.
From the day I first joined this board a few years back, to the day I left for my break and fell victim to the Crunch Monster. From the day I returned to RS.net, and to where I stand now. Today I stand as one of the few leading Veteran members of this board, and it's all thanks to you guys who have made my stay such a pleasure.
When I first joined, I was but a newb like how everyone else started out.
I worked my way up during the Old Era and met many people who become friends. Soon, I was posting so much, I became one of the leading top posters in this board, much like how ABL has become today. I was one of the leading members and knew many different people here and I had loads of fun. It made me gain a few bits of self-confidence to live life. But after a year stay of fun, I became tired and wanted to take a break. I tried taking a few breaks, but ended up coming back. But one day, right after I tried to take another break, little did I know it became permanent. My account was succumbed into the grimy hands of the Crunch Monster!.
Saddened, I eventually realised that maybe enough was enough .. and decided to move on .. it was a sign, I guess. I left my friends there .. hoping to keep in touch again soon ...
I moved on .. but I just couldn't resist the temptation of returning. I was tempted to rejoin a couple of times, but put it off to do other stuff.
Almost a year later, I finally had the guts and recreated a new account, this account. Donning the same name I had used in the old times, I returned back into this place ... only to realise that everything .. has changed.
The people, the ambience, everything. But I guess I came at a wrong time, I was in thick depression at that time, so I couldn't do much. After the .. "Dark times", I return well and made new friends in this new era. It's like, freezing yourself and sleeping for a hundred years, and finally waking up to a new world. The people here, you guys, are unique and creatively awesome in your own ways! You've made me .. carry on .. and made me feel more comfortable here. And for that, I thank you people.
Here's to another year of fun, , hilarity, and randomness in RS.net! Cheers!
