Couple of things here, Gang, and lets' get to it. The Posters that Steve gave to us are going out slowly, and another batch went out today (4) along with the AmDrag T-Shirt. I have to apologize to those who have stuff coming, its' been hard for me the last week what with the finale and all, and I've been feeling really icky for the last week. Been hard for me to get around. Here's a scan of this latest receipt for shipment... You can see the destinations on the receipt and you can pretty much figure out it's coming to you if your home town is on the list, LOL! The first one is for the T-Shirt. I decided to start including a bit of insurance on the items going out. I'm TOTALLY steamed at the Post Office for a couple of reasons... One of the posters was ruined by damage by the PO, and we actually had one NOT be delivered yet, and its' been like a month now... FRACKLE!!! Another one took over 21 days to get to the recipient, and that's UNACCEPTABLE!!! I decided to spend the extra $$$ to send these things to you guys FIRST CLASS, and this is how we get treated? BAH!!! So, now, if the PO screws up, we make money! I decided from now on, each and every package I send out is going to be by INSURED MAIL! These items may not mean a lot to someone off of the street, but to US, they are precious treasures, absolutely unique in stature and source, and are irreplaceable! So as I said, they are going to be insured for various amounts. Done ranting now, let's get to good news. The amount for the charity drive blew me away yet once AGAIN... I brought up the accounts again, and added it all up... *TEARS UP WITH JOY!* (Sorry to make more work for ya, Brian, LOL!) Ain't THIS a kick in the head? I'm ASTOUNDED at the generosity of you guys!!! Just... amazed RD

That's ASTOUNDING, RD! I'm just in awe at that figure! And we have another two weeks or so to go!
And total agreement on the insurance. Incredibly well-said there.

Ditto. I'm rather PO'd about how awful the USPS is. It's a miracle half the stuff I order online actually get's delievered safely.
A set of posters (2 of them) that I ordered recently... listen to this, when my dog ran to the guy, he tried to use the package (it was thin, and long ish) to stop him. It's like, "DUDE, WTF DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Well, he was stupid enough to check to see if anyone was in the garage and my dog was, so, he's lucky I ran out to save his sorry arse. So, yeah, it's a smart idea, insurance.
I, too, am in completely in awe about that 2000 total too. It's like... whoa, holy CRAP! That's what, a dollar for every member here? *checks member numbers* Well, close.

Fantastic on the new total.
On the shipping, I typically use FedEx on important items, many times the UPS guy (Not the Post Office delivery lady, ours is very good) just leaves packages at the door, we never authorized this and for some reason they just don't get the message.
One time I had a package sent from a small town north of San Francisco by UPS. The tracking number given wasn't good and UPS said they could not help me without it! Needless to say, "What can Brown do for you today" is to hand that package to FedEx for delivery.
Again congratulations to everyone on the new total.
Joe

It's great to see more precautions being taken to ensure the posters make it to the recipients, even though it shouldn't need to be done. Hopefully the next batches will fare better than those of us who were without with such luck. And the fundraiser looks to be a huge success, although it would be nicer to see more people contribute a little bit at a time, rather than to only have so few give massive amounts (or at least a combination). Nonetheless, call me an optimist in this case, I think we'll reach at least another $1000 before the month is over. ---- About the posters, how are y'all doing with protecting 'em? I followed tlionheart's suggestion and found a poster frame. Like his, mine was a mere inch too short, but it was still $20 well spent.

I sure did, and thanks!
We had a fairly uneventful week after the last donation came in...
$300!!!
I'm going to send out a sincere thank you via E-Mail to everyone who has contributed to this charity drive through the fund4kp@hotmail.com paypal account.
You guys have managed to JUST break the $2,000 mark there, and that doesn't include the amount that has been sent directly to CHOC!
I'm trying to do a little resting up for the big trip down to the Hospital to do the presentation of the check to Joyce. It's going to be like a 100+ mile drive for me to do that for you all...
6 more days to donate, Gang, there's still a little time left.
RD
