To back Steve up here... In past seasons we would often have to write "insert" scenes at the last minute because when we got everything together, all too frequently we'd be a minute or two short. So we'd have to scramble to figure out some extra bit that wouldn't feel too padded and could be boarded and recorded very quickly. This year, we decided to write a little long, knowing that sometimes we would be over and have to make cuts, but that it would be easier to cut than scramble at the last minute to add. Plus, by making trims at story reel, you could trim stuff for one reason or another might have read well in script but wasn't playing so well. Unfortunately for the board artists, sometimes we ended up WAY over and had to chop whole running gags and "c" plots that they had spent much time working out. Eventually we went back to shorter scripts and by the last episodes, we were pretty close to "just right." We didn't lose much story wise, but we did lose some fun jokes here and there. Maybe everybody can post their favorites after all of the episodes have aired. Maybe all the VIP's can chime in on Season 4 and what we "missed". I know all of this footage is lost forever, but it would still be fun to hear about all the "c" plots and jokes that were lost. Since multiple writers have worked on this season that are part of our board and both Bob and Steve will have some input, I've decided to make a special thread for this. All eps have aired on 2 continents and you can watch anything you missed in various mediums, including the entire season at I-tunes. So, what did we miss?

I hope these cuts make it into DVD boxsets. Nice to see some deleted scenes, ya know.

I hope these cuts make it into DVD boxsets. Nice to see some deleted scenes, ya know. I think they got rid of most of the cuts. I hope i'm wrong but I believe I heard this.

I know if the actual footage is lost forever, it would be great to have the VIPs give their stories of these.
At least then, they are on record somewhere. So, if DVD boxed sets do appear in the future, these might be included.
Hey, I just saw the Darkwing Duck Vol 2 and Rescue Rangers Vol 2, so there might be a chance, albeit a slim one.

There was a scene where that one character said that thing to that guy with the thing. Yep... I was sorry to see that scene go.

Yeah, I would love to see (or in this case, read) the cut scenes, alternate scenes and plots etc. too!

Yes, one rarely sees the artistic quality of the guy and the thing...
Even if all we have on the hypothetical DVDs is you guys talking about memories like good ol' boys on a porch, that would be something.

Now here are some things that really did get cut. I have this bad habit of over-describing things, which runs up the page count. So to get the page count back down, I would go through my scripts and take out the adverbs. Here are some of the cuts:
Quickly Dismissively Nonchalantly Angrily Frantically Casually Sarcastically Prohibitively Petulantly Tearfully Ruefully Wryly Incredibly Ecstatically
I'm happy to report, though, that I was able to keep most of the gerunds...

But those adverbs are delightfully and artistically wonderful!
