I like both Kim and Bonnie the same amount, but in different ways. Kim is the sweet, 'do anything for you' kind of girl, and I like her general outlook on life, and the fact that she's, well, nice! But she hasn't been the most well developed character. I mean, sure, she's the main character, but how many of us can say that she's our favorite? Whenever she gets sad, she doesn't have that devestated look on her face that we would probably like. You know, the kind of look that you can read the instant it comes up on the screen. The one that makes you tear up inside and want to embrace the poor girl in your arms. I for one have not experienced that with Kim. But Bonnie... she has more depth as a character. When we see her bullied by her sisters, she gets that look. In her one instant of vulnerability you can see years of sadness unveiled, and then her hardcore exterior is put back up as quickly as it disappeared. The only reason I would root against her is because of her crude attitude. That, I cannot accept. So now you all get to see an official mangafangirl rant THAT WAS DEEP,MY FRIEND!! it was awesome! *wipes tears*

Bonnie can controll her own actions. You are your own person. I hate people who use there parents or the media or the way they were brought up for how they act towards people. If you like her fine but don't use her background or family as an excuse for her acting the way she does.

Of course she could be like that because of her parents. If you would have been treated like dirt the past 10 or so years of your life, you would be like her too. Sure, she chose to be evil, but it's not all her own fault.

How can you choose to be evil and it not be your fault?
It's like people blaming violent music, movies, or video games for the crimes they commit.

Like I said before, both are to blame. Cause and effect. Bonnie could choose to act differently than she does as an effect to the cause, but without that cause, there would be nothing to inspire her to make that choice.

I like them both, but they both have their flaws. Bonnie doesn't open up enough, and Kim never gives her a chance to do so.

How can you choose to be evil and it not be your fault? It's like people blaming violent music, movies, or video games for the crimes they commit. Actually, it's not an opinion, but fact that the children who have been abused have a very, very HIGH probability of becoming abusers later in their lives. This is, in fact somethign that has been a concern among real life LEO (law enforcement organizations) for some time. Any police officer you care to name will have stories of the abused kid who became the abuser, or the family that's been having Domestic Disturbance calls for the last three decades and two generations. Bonnie isn't evil. What she is is someone who's been brought up to see life as a zero sum game. We only see her sisters once, but at that time they take pains to humiliate her infront of a stranger. That's a big point-- either they don't know Kim, or they DO know Kim and kim's relationship with bonnie and they happily forge on ahead. That's pretty low. No doubt when she lost the Rockwaller tradition, there was a goodly amount of criticism from them-- ignoring the fact that Unlike Bonnie, they've never had to deal with someone who saves the world. So the world view of Bonnie, the world view that was there before she met kim, is that for one to win, she has to lose. For her to win, Kim has to lose. Now the interesting thing is, in some episodes, such as Capn' Drakkn (where she referred to ron as "Ron" for example), there's a view of what Bonnie might be like outside that influence. Still very type A, and bossy, but not quite as desperate to be on top, no matter what it takes.
