Yep, yet another Barkin thread from moi!
In Graduation, Barkin mentions something along the lines of having "saved the world a couple of times." Anyone curious about how, when, etc.?
That would actually make an interesting flashback ep - Barkin saving the world from some crazed supervillain... (Unless he's just referring to his army service?)

Yeah, I always assumed he meant he saved the world when he was in the service. But it is kinda funny to imagine him going up against some supervillain.

Much to the thinking, I think he actually was a hero, yes he was in the military, but then again, he knows that Ron is a hero (atleast a sidekick) but he couldve mentioned that it was in the military when he did it instead of making ppl wonder, but thats my opinion

I have to believe that people in the military, and are involved in a war or military conflict, may have the concept that they helped save the world. I in fact kind of believe that as well. Barkin must be refering to two or three times he was called into battle, and for all we know, he might still be in the reserves. So yes, I think Barkin may have helped save the world in the past

I figured it out! Barkin, in his army years, was secretly the replacement Captain America! Think about it. Steve Rogers gave it up for a while in the 1960's, and the government needed a replacement Captain America to be a figurehead. Who better than Steve Barkin? EDIT: I take it back, that wasn't a joke. It fits in continuity (sort of) and actually explains it well, even the center will not hold. (The replacement Bucky was deemed insane, and Rogers came back and took the mantle of Cap away.. The center didn't hold.)

Couldn't have said it better. Thus Barkin saved the world in his own way.
Agreed, the American/French/Polish etc. pilots who went out of their way to help the RAF stop the Nazi onslaught were heroes for making Britain the final stand, and winning that last stand.
