RS.net held an informal chat session to discuss season 4. While the members were chatting about the debut, Steve Loter showed up and we had a Q&A session. I didn't get the full transcript due to a copy error, but I got most of it. We pick it up about 5 minutes into Steve's arrival....

[fazhou] Really, I think they've hit off on a great idea...a spin-off without really being a spinoff. They've already established new storylines for Monique, Wade, and the Tweebs...with the sister in the mix, there's plenty to hold everyone's interest.
