Now, I don’t pretend to start any ranting over here, nor judge anyone. I just want us to have an adult and well-mannered discussion over this.
Among the pairings in the KP Fandom, KiGo is the one who’s usually getting the short end of the stick, specially around this forum. While I know there’s people who respect it at some point, and others who just don’t give a darn, there are those who have stated to hate it or acted in according manners towards it. Yet, while I could try to guess, hardly anybody gives reasons for that.
Is it because KiGo, by its nature, opposes to K/R and D/S, two other popular pairings? Is it because of mere homophobia? Or why is it?
As I said before, I'm not gonna judge anyone, but I'd like an honest and non-insulting answer to this topic.
So, why?

we don't hate KiGo...i mean i kinda like it...but it's that it looks more popular than D/S and is a same sex pairing...i mean i don't mind if Shego and Kim make out...but if both of them do it behind Drakken's and Ron's back...yep as a double life...in the day with their mans...and in the night KiGo action or as i call it HLA
however in YouTube.com i heard someone said that the pairing of KiGo was an insult and bad mannered...which because is two girls doing it...but like i said last month i like Kim and Shego as somewhat sisters but if they want to get beyond that...be my guess...but remember to keep your mans in your heads
day:Kim with Ron...Shego with Drakken night:KiGo action
:-D

I make no bones about the fact I strongly dislike Kigo, but I will leave it alone and simply not partake of the sub-genre.

1)I don't like slash pairings -I don't like same-gender relationships. I tolerate people who do it-it's their choice and I have no right to rule their lives. But this is fiction, where we can decide who does what, and I can decide that in my fiction world there is no slash. 2)It's Kim and Shego -They're enemies. I don't think they would get together. Maybe as friends, but I don't think even just that would last long term. 3)It's everywhere -I have a tendency to go against anything popular. When 3/4 of the shego-related stories on ff.net are Kigo I find that extremely annoying
Well, that's my reasonable response. And now I shall gracefully leave.

Speaking for myself, I don't hate Kigo. And I'm certainly not homophobic. I'd be insulted if somebody called me that.
IMO, one of the best things to happen in Norwegian politics as of late is the fact that it looks like homosexuals are finally going to be allowed to marry like everyone else. That thought makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside after having listened to all those hateful debates for so long. ^___^
But I digress. These are my opinions on Kigo:
a) I just don't see it. The pairing doesn't make sense to me. Even if they were actually gay, which they clearly aren't, it wouldn't make sense to me. b) It just doesn't intrigue me. c) Understandably, it gets annoying when I look for D/S fanart and fanfics, which there is a lack of, and all I find is KiGo, especially when it comes to fanfics. When I search for 'drakken shego' at dA, I get a lot of Kigo in the bargain. The 'don't ship it, then don't look at it' rule can't apply here, because there's so much of it that I very often find it without looking for it. Sometimes I'm even reading a fic, thinking it might be D/S, and it turns out to be Kigo.
Too much of anything gets annoying, especially when you're looking for something else.
It's like going to the store to find low fat milk, and all they have is tons and tons of yogurt. Anybody would be annoyed if they couldn't find what they were looking for.
I'd be just as annoyed if all I found were tons of Ron/Drakken or Shego/Junior or Drakken/Warmonga or Drakken/Kim or Shego/Ron or whatever.
I'd be the first to admit that Kigo annoys me sometimes, but what I'm actually annoyed at is the lack of D/S, not so much at Kigo.
And sure, I agree that Kigo must get a lot of flack because, in order for it to work, it has to break up not only one, but two couples/teams. That's how people think in the world of internet fandoms. *shrugs*
Some of it is definitely also homophobia. IMO, that is basically the worst reason to dislike Kigo.

Shego and Kim are enemies, and I think Kim and Ron should be together.

I just don't see it, sorry. I will ship slash pairings with enemies (it's fun!) but I don't see how KiGo could work. It don't hate it but I dislike it. It has nothing to do with homophobia or it getting in the way of another ship (I ship pairings that get in the way of my main ships, even).

I completely agree with this. I don't have 'homophobia', or an intense hate for KiGo.
People shouldn't hate certain ships because it goes against their ship. You can get annoyed, *we all get annoyed, you have to admit it* but an intense hate is taking it too far. Most ships are fanon anyways, so there's really no need to fight.
I love this: 'Don't ship it, don't look at it'
People who make drama over what a certain fic says or what a picture shows because it's against their choice of ship create unecessary rudeness. If you don't HAVE to look at KiGo stuff if you aren't a KiGO fan, then don't. That goes for any other ship, too.
And to answer your question Alexlayer, I ship D/S. *shrugs* But I don't hate KiGo. I think it's because K/R is canon, and that adds to it all, too.
PS: I've seen KiGo art whilst looking up D/S stuff, too. Why would someone label a KiGo dA 'Drakken Shego'? That perplexes me.

I don't hate KiGo one bit. But then again, I don't ship it either.
Some people say they can't see it, well I'm different. I can see why some people ship it. I understand where you guys are coming from. KiGo makes a lot more sense than Rokken, but then I would think that Rongo and Drakkim make more sense than KiGo.
I've never bashed KiGo, I've never hated it. But I do think it can get annoying.
I don't know if any of you have realized this, but there has been a ton of KiGo at fan fiction. I'm kinda getting sick of it, because I'd like to see something different for a change.
But I don't hate it. And I'll never hate it.

From my experience it is usually one of the following 1) It is a same sex relationship. Some people in this world do not like gay couples for various personal/belief related reasons. 2) It goes against other pairings. Some people don't like it if they are completely invested in their favorite relationship and see people who 'oppose' it. 2.5) It goes against the show 'cannon' unless you consider any 'subtext' people claim exists. Some people only like things that follow the story completely and that is stated blatantly in the show. 3) Other. Because you can't generalise anything in life and there are always other reasons. Looking at the answers already here, this theory seems to hold pretty firm but I could still be proven wrong I guess. Personally, I don't mind KiGo. If I support a ship its Kim/Ron but other ships don't threaten me in any way, and I feel that just about any ship can have charm and I can appreciate it

I have nothing against same sex relationships, I just don't see KiGo happening. As mentioned, Kim and Shego hate each other, they can barely be friends, much less a couple! But it's never been an issue of shipping or homophobia with me. If you support the couple, it's fine by me.

I make it a habit not to actively 'ship' anything (and if I did, I'd most likely ship KR), but I can't say I totally dislike Kigo. I've read plenty of Kigo fics - some were great, some were okay, some sucked, and some were just plain "WTF!?", but overall I'd say I enjoyed most of them (not counting the ones I didn't bother to read more than a chapter of)

The biggest pairing I support is the Mickey/Apathy pairing. I watch Kim Possible to laugh, so I could not care less who is dating who. The same is true for fan fiction. I prefer stories that are done in the spirit of the show and focus on plot and humor. Stories that are basically about getting two people together really do not interest me, whether they are Kim and Ron, Kim and Shego, or flashback about how James met Anne. I do not mind as long as pairings are secondary, or even further down the priority list.
KiGo is my second least favorite of the popular pairings. Kim and Shego are quite opposite in many ways, most of them obvious. Putting them together is like connecting a set of jumper cables to your car battery and then touching other red and black ends. I feel the same way about DraKim, but that one gets the title of my least favorite because it has the added bonus of Drakken being 25+ years older than Kim.

My problem is that for me it's just a nice joke. Something you can do for captioning a screencap of Kim and Shego and then all go " ". Unfortunately everything you can do with this joke has been made years ago and some people take this way too seriously. People always talk about the hate for KiGo, but what about the people who feel seriously insulted if do don't agree about the subject? You tell them them that the creators (who should know best about it) said that something like KiGo never existed in the show and they tell you to shut the funk up, call you hompohobic and start flaming. This is what ruined KiGo for me. It got old pretty quick and ruined by people who think that their life would depend on the existence of Kigo. Of course not all KiGo shippers are like that.

i like it. but only in fanon and joke canon, I can't bear when people get to hissy about it. The way i see it is tht shipping should only be for fun, cos if u take it too far then it can be unhealthy. I don't like how Shego is portrayed in Kigo, cos its usually quite cliched (now that can be said by a lot of ships, but it stands out in this one) It has nothing to do with the sex of the characters, i am completely pro homosexuality
