How do you screw up coffee?

I don't know, but the cafeteria found a way to do it. It isn't drinkable. I think it's burnt.

What would you like to rule and why?

Well, I'm not the type to want to take over the world, but I'd like a few minutes to clean up the government. I'd make a miserable president. ("WORK TOGETHER, YOU IDIOTS! SCREW YOUR PERSONAL AGENDAS AND DO WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY, NOT JUST YOUR DISTRICT!!!" Yeah, I'd last 5 minutes. ) Hmm...does commanding a 1700-foot long starship count as "ruling" something? Because I'd love to do THAT.

How short/long is your hair?

It's relatively short, but a little shaggy. I probably need a haircut.

So, does your starship have the standard bad coffee? It's pretty universal among Navy ships. I think it subs in as lube oil too.

I don't drink the stuff out of the mess, I get mine from the ward room. (Although since it's going to be featured in a comic strip once I sit down and write the darn thing, bad coffee will probably be a running gag (no pun intended.)) @ Ashley: I dunno. Why are you bored? And maybe you have a cold.

Why are you bored? And maybe you have a cold. Bah, you officers and your high and mighty wardroom messes. I've had like a few chances to eat in there (even though I was enlisted) when I was working with a whole buncha higher ups on shipyard planning. It was pretty nice. And yes, they do have better coffee there. That's where the people that actually went to Mess Specialist school wind up, as opposed to like 2 of them watching over the worst slackers they could find that got sent to do galley work for the enlisted side. But, at least we had it better than the Marines and the Army. ;D

Hi there, all! Just a quick little update. No, I have not dropped off the face of the Earth. Nor have I fallen into a black hole, or met some other space-related demise. It's finals time at college, so I'm really really really busy studying for them and trying to pack. Just letting you know, in case any of you were starting to worry.

Well, hi there, all. Sorry I dropped off the board for a while...I've been awful busy between finals, coming home, and Christmas. (And I had to set up a wireless router for my computer so I could get online.) I'm home for a month, so I'll try to pop in a little more frequently now. Just lettin' y'all know!

How was Christmas, mate?

Christmas was great. I got a new digital camera, a six-pack of Walthers Beth-Gon coalporter hopper cars, and coal loads for those hopper cars (so yes, I did, in fact, get coal for Christmas. ) I also got both of the "Rescuers" movies on DVD, and I got Union Pacific Steam Volume 2 on DVD, and Union Pacific Big Boys 4000-4024 on DVD. All in all, it was great. And best of all, I'm home again.
