I'm sure there's a few spots open. If I'm not the headliner, I'm not dancing.

is this a gentleman's club where the guys have to wear suits, monocles, top hats and have canes and be filthy rich to get in?

My dream has come true in this thread. This reminds me of how we said our first meeting would go:

Only me and you could high-five for a solid fifteen minutes.
Then you'd chokeslam me through a door or table =]

I beat Sonic 3 as Tails today. Got all the emeralds too.
When I got to the infamous drum in Carnival Night II, it turned out that I couldn't pass it because the 'up' on my 'good' controller refused to work. Popped it open and found the wire had broken from the harness, ensuring that up would never work again.
So, some emergency controller surgery on my sticky-button controller got that one working again (B is still a bit fussy) and I was able to continue.
I'd forgotten how lame the last Robotnik boss is on Sonic 3. The one in the ice fortress level was more difficult.

Yeah the final boss in Sonic 3 isn't as hard or awesome looking as a lot of the other Sonic games, I still love Sonic 2's end boss and ending.
