That's why I love the Joker.
Problem: I'm bored. Solution: Get someone to start talking about their lovelife, then shoot them for talking about their lovelife.

So, when you say 'BBQ' what exactly do you mean? Because that term has different meanings in different parts of the country.

It does?!
I just mean it as Barbecue, but that's too long to fit in the title.

In NC, where I live, BBQ/barbeque is a slow-roasted pork shoulder that is then chopped and served with a vinegar-y slaw and sauce that probably contains vinagar and cayenne pepper, among other ingredients. I've heard (and I might be wrong) that in Texas BBQ is always beef? And my California relatives refer to hotdogs and hamburgers cooked on the grill as 'barbeque'. So, is your barbeque beef, pork, both, other....? And what kind of sauce do you put on it, if any?

Wouldn't anything cooked out in the open, over a fire, be considered BBQed?

Wouldn't anything cooked out in the open, over a fire, be considered BBQed? In most parts of the US, yes. But not in North Carolina. We call outdoor cooking 'grilling' or 'cooking out'. Barbeque is a very specific way of cooking a specific type of meat, and it's also the name for the meat once it's cooked. There are lots of words that mean one thing in most of the US and something else in the South. 'Toboggan' means a sled most places, but here it's a knit hat. A shopping cart is called a 'buggy' here. If I had a self-destruct button, I wouldn't just 'push' it, I would 'mash' it. I have to be careful to avoid using regional terms like that in my writing.

Hm I'm not sure what the Texas definition of BBQ is, but I probably wouldn't doubt it if it was beef. Usually when we have one we have beef (like fajitas), some chicken and pork sausage. We don't put any sauce on it, just some seasoning though sometimes my dad does marinade it. I don't think we ever grilled hot dogs or hamburgers.
