I have noticed that this forum is approaching one million posts according to the public counter seen on the home page of our site. It will be interesting to see who will be the one who puts at one million. I've mentioned this fact to dracko19 ronstoppable.proboards89.com/index.cgi?board=contest&action=display&thread=1188261208&page=6(Although his counter has this forum at 1,140,000+ posts---Dracko19, with all due respect I'm not disputing what your counter reads, but it may be due to deleted posts and threads being included in our count or for some other reason). Would you like to see some sort of prize offered for the one who gets us to a million according to the public counter? And if such a contest is given a go-ahead, I'd suggest that the lucky poster be prepared to back up his/her claim by providing a screenshot of the counter, like the example above. Oh, and I think we can determine who's get the millionth post by using the "view the 60 most recent posts of this forum" link. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Oh, and watch your counters!

As I already stated in the previous thread you posted...
The counter is very unpredictable. I'm showing a different count than you are. Also, we passed 1 million posts some time ago. Proboards has a limit on how many posts any forum can handle and at some point we get a "crunch" where many posts just vanish and the counter drops back. Since it is impossible to know where we are exactly on post count at any one time, there is no way I can run a contest linked to that number. Sorry.

Look, DMF!
well, since we can't really do anything about the posts, we should do something for the amount of members. We're approaching 3,000.

I agree about the 3000 one. The 2000th member got a nice custom title. Also, you should delete some older threads before we hit 1 million so we don't have a Proboards crunch. Just a suggestion. Fun board threads (non-ask me threads and non-WDYLL and Random threads), and General Discussion threads, possibly?

I watch the member counts so we will indeed do something for number 3000.
As for deletion of threads....maybe. Ron likes a running history of the forum, so I'll have to confer with him and he's in deep woods of Africa right now on a safari

I read old threads like it's my job*. However, wouldn't it be prudent to remove threads that are just like one pages and don't really have anything to say? Or something like that. Holy crap, 3000 already? That's brilliant! Can't believe the forum's still getting that many even though the show's ended. Good luck and congratulations in advance to the lucky person who gets us to that milestone. With that in mind, perhaps this thread could be retitled.

Probably nothing because that's hard to track. Sorry guys.
Plus the board will probably get a little crunched around 1 million. I'm sure it'll happened.
A large thread in the ask me section got crunched yesterday. It was near 500 and it got crunched to 150. I suggest an addendum to the rule. Threads hit 400 or 450 they should be closed to save it. But that's me.

Well, that's cool.
It makes sense if we do something for that.

And anyway, we already hit 1,000,000 posts (in addition of the threads that are in the trash bin and old threads section that iare invisible to people who aren't staff). And that doesn't count posts we've permanently deleted, so who knows when we got there. LOL.

Yeah, LOL. Finding an official 1,000,000 post would be impossible, and we've already passed it, so the 3,000 members focus works.
[Edit] That and the original poster already noticed this as well at 7AM today and edited it in LOL
