R Kelly's 'Trapped in the Closet"

This is apparently a real tv show in the US (I may need confirmation on this because I doubt even R Kelly could get something this bad on tv)

Perhaps the most pointless tv show ever, episode 9 of R Kelly's 'Trapped in the Closet' [Contains some adult language]

He calls it a 'Hip hop-ra', I just call it hilariously bad ;D

God I hate R-Kelly, the only song of his I liked was the one for Spacejam i.e. 'I believe I can fly'. And I like him even less after the pedo allegations. And I hate his current album, he doesn't even sing so much as he tells a crappy story from the 'ghetto'.

"Trapped in the Closet" came out last July. I'm surprised it's just being brought up now.
The man is dead serious about this and is considering making up to 20 of these. *shudder*

Here's Part One of "TitC". (Warning: PG-13 for language) and here are the lyrics (I cleaned 'em up a bit).
I have long disliked R. Kelly. His songwriting has been compared by some to Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder in their prime.
I hope "TitC" has effectively killed that belief.

I noticed other episodes linked from the one I gave but I didn't really want to see them ;D (I can imagine what they are like ). I linked to this one because this is the one that I saw on a UK documentary about US tv. It was kinda talking about the bad US shows and then just randomly showed that episode and I just cracked up laughing because of it's pointlessness and randomness ;D

...And not one of them is a complete piece of crap.

Usually, his songs average out to about 3-5 minutes. For some reason, he's fixated on this "hip-hopera" thing. He wrote a few songs like this, like "Best Friend" by Kelly Price and "Be Careful" by Sparkle. To be fair, he has written a few good songs, but at some point the man lost his mind.

This thread reminded me of something I wrote in another forum last year:

I'd heard the "Trapped In The Closet " was bad, but I watched with an open mind, thinking, "It can't be as bad as I'm hearing." Folks have a way of exaggerating, especially on the internet. I'm a believer in watching/reading things in order to form my own opinion. So, after weeks of avoiding it, I caved in and watched endured all five parts in one sitting.

"Trapped In The Closet " is, without a doubt, the worst video I have ever seen. At least in this century. The songs suck hilariously on their own, but the videos suck and blow at the same time. It's like a Tyler Perry play, but instead of Medea waving a gun around, you have Arruh whipping out his Baretta and alternating between waving it around and scratching his head with it. And the lyrics! Oh, the lyrics!

Checks under the bed
Then opens the dresser
He looks at the closet
I pull out my Baretta
He walks up to the closet
He comes up to the closet
Now he's at the closet
Now he's opening the closet...closet...closet...

The only thing really offensive about this video is his apparent expectation that we take this seriously. As if there's something re-e-eally deep going on here about infidelity. But there really isn't.

Back with "Be Careful" by Sparkle, "Friend of Mine"( Remix) by Kelly Price and some of the Ron "Mr Biggs" Isley songs, I thought R. Kelly's mini-operas were interesting and had promise. At the time I thought, "he should do more songs like this". Boy, was I wrong. If anyone else had done "TITC", they would have been called a two-bit hack. After this, I will hear no more "Arruh is such a genius" crap. Never again. There is tons of evidence, but "TITC" is the capper... Give me a freaking break.
