OK, so I guess this is the thread that I use to introduce myself. Hmm, OK, here it goes. I am registered member of the Republican Party; I've lived in the US all my life; I am a Christian that believes in the Genesis account of Creation; I am extremely nationalistic; I love to run, read, play video games, write, and sleep; my favorite fiction franchises are Kim Possible, Halo, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Star Wars, BattleTech/MechWarrior, Erick Flint's 1632 series, Enterprise, Tom Clancy titles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Mass Effect, and a little Doctor Who and other various shows on the side; I've spent the last 11 years designing and perfecting my own original fiction multiverse called The Nexus Wars; I first began watching Kim Possible when it first aired all the way back in 2002; my favorite characters are Ron and Shego; my favorite pairings are Rongo, Kilix, K/R, and a few others; I first became involved with the fandom after following a link to one of StarvingLunatic's stories a year ago (Come the 26th), since then I've become a writer on FanFiction.net (It's listed as my homepage if you want to read some of what I've written) and a member of the Global Justice Alliance; and, uh, that's it . . . Here I am. Oh, and one more thing, my motto is Sic Semper Tyrannus. It's Latin and it means, "Thus always to tyrants." (Yes, I know it's what John Wilkes Booth said after he shot Lincoln, but it's a cool saying and it fits my opinions to a tee. So )

Comrade Darth Comrade said: Well, actually, it's more like my third or forth step, but the saying still counts because the third one had e walking off a cliff. Of course I remember you, sir! How I could I forget? You're fics were the first stories that I read that made me cry. So much tragedy, so much sadness. . . . Anyway, there was originally far more here, but, as it turns out, in a 'brilliant' display of clicking prowess I manages to delete 90% of the message. So, yeah, here's the 'unintentionally edited' version of the post. Sorry if I don't mention everyone, but doing that much writing again will kill my wrists, and I've already been working on this thing all day so I also don't have the time. To everyone who welcomed me to the forum: Thank you, I really don't know what else to say without sounding weird, but then again, this is a KP forum, we like weird, right? Oh, and the whole 'Comrade' thing can be traced back to my all time favorite RTS game. Yep, I loves me some Red Alert! ;D EDIT: Removed a line that could be considered offensive.

You're a MechWarrior fan! Hopefully not a freebirth...although I do support the Lyrians. Anyway, I've been trying to get into the BattleTech wargaming scene for a while, but even in Philadelphia, the sets are impossible to find. And I'd try reading the Dark Age novelizations to get up to speed on where things *are* in the universe, but I'm too busy with college and otherwise too lazy to make Borders order them for me. So I just go back to playing the Titanium Trilogy on my laptop when I actually have spare time. Even though the prior 3Dfx versions were so much better (especially in regards to music)...too bad I wore out all those disks.

You're a MechWarrior fan! Hopefully not a freebirth...although I do support the Lyrians. Well, my grandmother was from Germany so I guess genetically I'd be a Lyran, and I do love their tech, but truth be told I've been fighting against them for so long I don't think I could ever work for the Archon. However, if you want to know exactly what faction I associate with, that should be easy to figure out, the Wolf's Dragoons! Who else! However, I do wish that Clan Wolverine would pop up again, I loved those guys. What ever happened to them anyways? I mean, they showed up at the beginning of Black Knight then *POOF!* never hear from again. I never got into the corporeal games, mostly because of lack of both funds and players (My state isn't exactly known for it's sociallity). I have tried to keep up with the books, but it does get tiering after awhile. No, my favorite form of Battletech media is still the computer games. This, however, is hampered by my copy of MW4: Mercenaries having a bad disk. So I just go back to playing the Titanium Trilogy on my laptop when I actually have spare time. Even though the prior 3Dfx versions were so much better (especially in regards to music)...too bad I wore out all those disks. Titanium Trilogy? I'm Sorry, but I've never heard that term before. Oh, and great Clan Coyote avatar by the way. Really looks cool, but I still think these guys have the cooler logo: Oh, and DEATH TO CLAN JADE FALCON!!! They make me so mad.

I agree with you about the computer games...I have multiple copies of all of them (minus the MechCommander series). MW2: Mercenaries is still my all-time favorite, and even its MW4 follow-up couldn't out-do it. The original MW2 is a close second, though I will admit that MW3 had the best graphics...gritty and realistic, and less flashy and overly-colorful than the MW4 series. However, if you want to know exactly what faction I associate with, that should be easy to figure out, the Wolf's Dragoons! As mercenaries go, I like the Kell Hounds, in particular due to their assisting Clan Wolf at the end of the Refusal War, and beating back the Falcons (whom I also hate). Clan Wolf-In-Exile is still the legitimate Clan Wolf to me, and I've always liked the warden clans...including Clan Coyote, as you can see. I thought the Wolverines were basically wiped out (by Clan Wolf, ironically) after they went AWOL and decided to go on another exodus? And all I remember about Black Knight is how awesome it was to kill your character from Vengeance, who I didn't enjoy playing as at all (though I guess Spectre wasn't much better than Ian...that's why I still prefer the originals; lots of backstory and character development through reading the situation reports, and no lame voice-acting). They were the final versions of MW2, Ghost Bear, and MW2: Mercs to be released (around 1998 I believe), with updated graphics. Other than that however, it was disappointing--the awesome mission-specific soundtrack from the original was now randomized, and Ghost Bear's Legacy, for whatever reason, used Wolf and Jade Falcon insignia rather than GB, Draconis Combine, and Smoke Jaguar, which ruined the immersion factor. Thanks, but I actually prefer the original Ghost Bear logo over the Rasalhague Dominion's. I completely agree.

The original MW2 is a close second, though I will admit that MW3 had the best graphics...gritty and realistic, and less flashy and overly-colorful than the MW4 series. Well, since MW2 never really worked for me I wouldn't be able to make a qualified judgment on it other then Merc is very, very, hard. But I can say that if MW4 had anything going for it (Besides the user interface) it was the 'mech designs, they are easily my favorites out of the entire franchise. Well, truth be told, I've always liked Wolf's Dragoons for one simple reason, they are really the only guys in the MW universe besides the Minnesota Tribe that could be classified as 'heroes'. That, and I've always played as them so changing my colors really isn't a option. Nope, they were there. If you look closely at the logos on the 'pirate's' 'mechs on the asteroid (First area), you'll see that they all have the Minnesota Tribe emblem on them. As for Vengance: well, truth be told what was probably the coolest part of that game for me was the opening cutscene, that was just unfrakkingbelieveable and I really with they made more cutscenes like that, only with better actors and graphics. The main character really needed work, all the rest of the characters were fine though. Oh, well that's just frakking great. Why in the world would someone do that?! Thanks, but I actually prefer the original Ghost Bear logo over the Rasalhague Dominion's. Heh, no arguments here. Let me guess, it was because of Galaxy Commander Malvina Hazen, right? Though truth be told I despised them even before she came along. On another note: Just what is your favorite 'mech, ilKhan? (This goes for the rest of y'all too.) Yom, Cody! Hi! I'm Mangafangirl, or Mandi for your convenience. Fellow Chistian and American citizen I am. Though I do love the French and Japanese cultures. Nice to meet you! If you need anything at all, I'm here Thank you, ma'am. It's good to know that comrades amongst the denizens of this site. I'm not sure about the French culture myself, though I do have to admit that their military kicks all sorts of butt (That is, if the politicians would give them the chance). Hey, have a great time here. Thank you, ma'am, and . . . Hey! Don't I know you from FF.net?

Malvina is psychotic, but my hatred of the Falcons goes back to playing the original MW2: 31st Century Combat. They came across as being jerks to me right from the start...I didn't like their motives, and I especially despised the underhanded way in which saKhan Chistu killed off Ulric Kerensky. I much prefer the warden mindset over their fanaticism.
And my favorite 'mech? Probably the Dire Wolf (Daishi). I'm still a fan of the originals.
Although I also liked the Mad Dog/Vulture and the Warhawk/Masakari. There were moderate changes from the original designs when they came out with the MW4 series, but for the most part those names represent the same 'mechs.

There were moderate changes from the original designs when they came out with the MW4 series, but for the most part those names represent the same 'mechs. I really started to loathe the Jade Falcons when I first faced them on New Exodus. They were just so smug about everything! And every time I've encountered them since then has caused me nothing but annoyance. They really do have an incredible ability to play the villain. But, I will give them this: they really do make awesome 'mechs. The Shrike and the Cougar certainly are cool. Ah, the Dashi. Can't argue with the Clan Atlas. Though, somehow whenever I look at it's arms I always think it's about to destroy a planet. Ah, yes, the Vulture. Another of my favorite 'mechs. Though I was seriously disappointed that the MW4 version didn't have the ability to carry autocannons. Warhawk's great any way you slice it. Though, truth be told I am more then little disappointed that the most iconic 'mech ever - the Mad Cat Mk. II - was not including in anything other then the MW4 series. Seriously! It would have been great to have it in MechAssault or Dark Age. Oh, Dark Age. Seriously, I honestly feel sometimes like I want to hurt the guy that came up with some these 'mechs. I mean, how can these be considered upgrades? Mad Cat II Mad Cat III Mad Cat IV Vulture Mk. IV Though, the Ryoken II does look pretty cool. And so do at lot of the original 'mechs, but still . . .

New Exodus...did you mean New Exford? The periphery planet where you're under Kell Hound employment? I was surprised that Aisa Thastus would actually allow herself to be made a "bondsman" to a bunch of IS mercenaries. But whatever, it was interesting to have a Clanner in my lance. And one who I didn't have to pay. The only thing better than that would have been having Malvina Hazen in command of my second lance. Also, the Mad Cat was called the Timberwolf in the original game. It's the 'mech on the game box: Slightly different, as you can see (arm and LRM-launcher-wise), but still basically the same machine. I don't know much about Dark Age, but I've heard some...disturbing rumors. Such as that 'mechs have chainsaws for arms. But, I'm...I'm sure that's just a rumor. Haha, I mean really, it couldn't possibly be true.

In that order.
*Snaps fingers* That's the one! New Exford!
You'd just like to see her squirm wouldn't you? Or fume, as the case maybe.
OK, so they sort of reverted with the Mad Cat's (Sorry, but as insane as it maybe Mad Cat caught on better then Timberwolf, so all subsequent models have that name, crime shame too) design, but that's not necessarily a good thing. Certainly makes 'em an ugly thing.
That would be the Forestry Mech. Since that peacenik Stone made everyone (Even the Clans) disarm for the most part when the Word of Blake struck people started using internal combustion-powered industrial 'mechs for war purposes. So yeah, some of the earlier 'mechs had chainsaws for arms, but as the wars raged on more and more modern weaponry (Not necessarily 'mechs) came into the fray, but despite that melee combat is still common - which is why the Ryoken II can pull a Wolverine.
