What b*tches!!!wow people can be such jerks!!! Dawn and I see kind of fine but megan just gives me looks. And what hurts us that dawn kind of sides with me when megan isn't there but then she turns polar opposite when megan is there. Dawn was my best friend in the whole world in 8th and 9th grade and this last summer and I was the same to her and megan was jelous of that and did everything she could to get in between dawn and I, I tried to be megans friend and was nuttin but nice to her. So this summer they were sneaking out and megan doesn't care what happens as long as dawn likes her more than me so since I don't agree with what theyr doing I get crap!!!grrrr

Advice? Simple: "observe" and "eyes on the prize" Having been through four high schools and six colleges, being the new on the block is going to be the norm for the rest of your life. So it's a good time now to develop focus.
If college is your goal (it should be since any career advancement and decent salary depends on that sheepskin at your age), then work on developing yourself into a "well-rounded" person on the application. That is: pick one competitive sport and one influenial social activity where you can advance onto a leadership position (treasurer, VP, etc.). Do note what colleges you want to apply to is looking for and angle yourself towards it. Your guidance counselor should be your friend.
And work on your grades. Going though your textbook is made easier by the "SQ3R" method (survey, question, read, recite and review) and note-taking helps by drawing a 2.5 inch margin where you can summarize your lecture into possible exam questions so you can drill yourself during free times. If you can find margin-less, college-ruled notebook paper, great; but you can do with margin paper (learn to ignore the redline). Rule of thumb, you'll forget 75% what you hear in class twenty-four hours later - so organized note-taking is essential. To draw inspiration from our common subject, even KP studies at every opportunity.
And pick good electives. AP courses help and might help you by-pass them later in the first year of college. Basket-weaving doesn't cut it on the application. But calculus, chemistry, physics and macro-economics can.
You'll find high school an almost unbearable regimented existence; it's meant to be that way. You'll find yourself among two thousand hormonal-challenged and easily distracted sub-adults and the grown-ups had to devise some way to corral that energy. But knowing what you want five years from now gives you a leg up in getting through these years.
Oh, why six colleges? I didn't go to college right out of high-school, but went into the military. While there, I learned about studying college-level material and took at least one course at every opportunity to manage qualifying as a transfer student after discharge so I never took a SAT. Not the easiest way to get a Bachelor's.

One last item: you can order "Bud's Easy Note Taking System: For Taking Notes in Class" from Amazon.com. The author is James Roberts and the ISBN is 978-0960943685. It's a good starting point towards developing your own system. (Later) I finally remembered and lookup the note-taking system I learned and offered in the Buds' book: The Cornell Method from www.sas.calpoly.edu/asc/ssl/notetaking.systems.html#cornell : The Cornell method provides a systematic format for condensing and organizing notes without laborious recopying. After writing the notes in the main space, use the left-hand space to label each idea and detail with a key word or "cue." MethodRule your paper with a 2 ½ inch margin on the left leaving a six-inch area on the right in which to make notes. During class, take down information in the six-inch area. When the instructor moves to a new point, skip a few lines. After class, complete phrases and sentences as much as possible. For every significant bit of information, write a cue in the left margin. To review, cover your notes with a card, leaving the cues exposed. Say the cue out loud, then say as much as you can of the material underneath the card. When you have said as much as you can, move the card and see if what you said matches what is written. If you can say it, you know it. AdvantagesOrganized and systematic for recording and reviewing notes. Easy format for pulling out major concept and ideas. Simple and efficient. Saves time and effort. "Do-it-right-in-the-first-place" system. DisadvantagesNone When to UseIn any lecture situation. About textbooks, again using the Cornell layout described above, this might help from www.factmonster.com/homework/studyskills2.html : Taking notes from textbooks1. Organize your paper the same as for class notes. 2. Keep textbook notes separate from class notes. Use a separate notebook or a separate section in your loose-leaf notebook. 3. Get a general idea of what the reading is about. 4. Go back and read the chapter or section carefully. Look for the main ideas. 5. Try not to copy information directly from the textbook into your notes. Instead, summarize the information in your own words. This will help you to concentrate and learn. 6. If you do copy directly from the textbook, use quotation marks to indicate that it is a direct quotation. Take care to copy the quotation exactly. 7.Summarize the main ideas at the end of your notes and circle them. It's a good idea to set aside about four lines at the bottom of each page where you can make up exam questions based on your notes. After awhile, you can almost predict what the questions are going to be.

Did a little research on high-school time-management skills since the posts indicates it. So I found this on www.solveyourproblem.com/time-management/time_management_high_school_students.shtml that may be of some help: Time Management Tips for High School Students You’re in high school now, and if you’re feeling pressured about trying to meet all the deadlines with studying and test taking, you should know that you’re not the only one. Teens in high school all across the county feel the pressure to get their assignments done and on time. What’s the secret you wonder? Time management plans. By managing your time you’ll have more time on your hands to complete all your school work plus more. That’s the benefit of managing your time. Once you have found the way to manage your time, you will also have time for you to be with a few friends or a significant other. Here are 10 time management skills that are worth considering. Keep all your homework notes and supplies in once place. There is nothing that wastes more time then having to look all over for something as simple as a calculator or graphing paper. For every item that you misplace by not keeping it in the exact same spot every time, you’ll loose 10 minutes at the least. Make it a standard practice to study in a place that is physically comfortable for you. Don’t make it too comfortable though, you just might doze off. Check the lighting and get relaxed so you can concentrate. Keep your study area in the same place every day. Find the best place for you to study and stick with it. Finding that quiet study area will help you find a routine and feel more at ease while studying. For assignments such as term papers or science projects begin the day it is assigned. Teachers have little patience with late projects especially if you’ve been given the assignment early on. Schedule each homework session by blocking off your time for each subject at 30 minute intervals, even if it’s just to review notes. Do your studying or assignments for the more difficult classes first. Your mind is fresh, and it won’t mentally take as much out of you as it would later. You’ll retain what you have learned too. Don’t try to study with the TV blaring, and a half dozen people trying to talk to you, or being loud. You won’t retain anything because it’s just to distracting. Some people do find it helpful to play soft music in the background. For some it has the affect of relaxing and stimulating the mind. Before you begin to study take a few moments, and review your previous notes. In fact that’s a good policy to do everyday even if you don’t have an assignment. It helps you refocus what you learned and what you’re about to study. In a written assignment take a few moments and reference pages on any notes from class. Skip doing all cram sessions the night before a test. Panic always sets in along with exhaustion and anything you did learn, or thought you had learned, is soon forgotten the next day. When you study, use your time wisely by finding a study partner that is just as committed as you are. This study partner may be able to offer different ways to study that you might not have thought about. By learning these time management skills now you’ll be able to breeze through high school, and more importantly you’ll learn good skills of time management for college and your working career. Believe it or not it’s much easier to learn how to manage your time wisely now, than learning it later in life. Just as important as the learning process is the acceptance process. It’s often emotionally hard to accept the fact that you’re approaching adulthood, and it’s normal to think I wish it didn’t come so soon. Also, we all procrastinate on things, and it’s easy to see why you would. After all you’re still in high school, so why not? Today life is a hurried game, and the quicker you understand that the better off you’ll be. Of course there are ways to cut back on cramming in too much, not only for your academic life, but for your personal life too. Learning to balance all aspects of your life, from study, work, and personal time is the key to success in high school and for the rest of your life.
