Looks like there's some sort of filter that changes posted URL addresses on the fly. What gives, a Rickroll hater? Anyway, this ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSsJ19sy3JI ) should clear things up. And I checked my past posts and found all Rickroll references got Pollocked. So, what is about Rickroll that so violates the board rules necessating URL alterations by a filter? And who's doing it and why they so hate Rickrolls? This should help: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI

What's wrong with a good Jackson Pollock? It's not the content, but the principle. We the board survivors just went through when one individual vandalize the intent of the creator of the board to the discomfort of the many. What applies to the group also applies to the individual: vandalizing the words alters the intent of the author, whether that vandalism was done by hand or by machine. I ask again: how does Rickroll URL (a family-oriented 1980's music video) violates the board's rules so much that any and all references to it deserve net-nannied? The intent of posting the link, which were clearly labeled as a Rickroll, is to say "lighten up, this mess is taken way too seriously but we still love the board and won't desert it." The link reference on this board used no bandwidth and the reader has the option to not click on it. But to alter the Rickroll link with a Pollock one removes my message. If this URL is so vile, then replace the message that contain it with the message explaining why this message was removed and the rule violated. The board has done this before, so it is within its capability. But to alter the individual words implies I'm saying something I didn't say. And knowing this "feature" exist lends doubt whether any message read on this board is what the author intended or was altered in some fashion and therefore not trustworthy.

I'm pretty sure it's not that there's anything wrong with the Rickroll, more that it's a very old internet joke that most people feel has gotten stale if they've been on the internet for long enough. That, and you're not supposed to announce that it's a rickroll, that removes the point of the joke completely. Next you'll be telling us that you love mudkips right? That's some cutting edge humour

It's a joke pointing out it's a joke - a variation of the "trap/trap." But does that justify net-nannyfied?

If pointing out obvious jokes was funny, CTRL-ALT-DEL would be a good webcomic. ...actually, no it still wouldn't
