Dear fellow members of RS.Net,
I haven't logged on to RS.Net for more than 6 months now, and I feel that I should provide some explanations on that. I don't want to be one of those guys who just left without saying goodbye.
I come here mainly to chat with fellow members about the show (even though the show has ended, doesn't mean you can no longer discuss about it). However, it is apparent that this board no longer or rather minimally cater for KP fans. Thus, I have lost my purpose for being here. On top of that, it is sad to see fellow RS.Net members fight with each other sometimes, most notably on the FFF. I feel that as fellow KP fans, even though you don't agree with what they do, you don't have to go against them. It doesn't help you and their cause. Also, it defeats the purpose of having a FFF section....
One of the other reasons that got me into joining this board was having dracko19 as a moderator of this board. I felt comfortable when I see him taking charge whenever there's any trouble on the board, and I was very impressed when I came to know that he single-handedly saved this board (I read his posts on proboards before joining rs.net). After about 2 - 3 weeks observation, I decided to join this board. It saddens me when I came to know that he has resigned from being an admin of this board. I may not know him that well, but I do know that he is a good moderator. No offense to other admins/moderators, but I do think that there is a need for an authority figure in a message board, and having dracko19 or someone of similar qualities will be good for the board. Well, I have said two years ago that when dracko19 stopped being a moderator of RS.Net, my RS.Net days may be over. True enough.
I have made a lot of friends here, and a few close ones. I have even met fellow members such as Levelord, Grandpa RD and elvisjj, and had a great pleasure to meet Bob Schooley at his office during my holiday to US last year. However, work and other things in life has caught up with me. I have not been online often, even on MSN. Levelord, Luqkim and Comrade_Chin can attest to that. In fact, they have been nagging me on MSN for not being online often (Sorry, guys!). After the show has ended, I have also been keeping myself busy by reigniting my interest in table tennis. I go for training after work, and have participated in several tournaments, thus limiting my time in getting online.
However, I do bring along some reminder of the show wherever I go. I'm still using the same KP wallpaper on my laptop for more than a year (Thanks, Levelord!), and my handphone is KP-themed (Ringtone : This Is Our Year, Message Alert : Kimmunicator Beep, Background Image : KP). Also, I have a small KP sticker on my table tennis bat which I bring along for training and tournaments, and I still collect KP merchandise. All in all, I'm still a KP fan at heart.
I thank the board for providing me two great years of sharing my passion for the show. I'm sorry if I ever hurt or offend anyone along the way. I will keep my account active, in case someday I might decide to come back. For the time being, I shall bid adieu.
JohnnyS, signing off.
