Okay, non-canon 'ships in general. What do you love, what grinds your gears? What have you come across that surprised but did not enrage you? And most importantly WHY?
I ship KimxShego. Because I like the idea of opposites working together and I like writing out how that could happen. I find Shego to be an immensely interesting character with a lot to work with as a writer since she has relatively no backstory.
I accidentally ship ShegoxElectronique. While I was writing my take on Shego's backstory the relationship sort of evolved. Electronique has an even looser history than Shego and was even MORE fun to work with.
I hold nothing against KimxRon. I even write it. They're best friends, I see nothing wrong with them getting together.
I do not ship nor like KimxDrakken. He's as old as her father, perhaps even a bit older. He's also loopy. Doesn't seem like the basis for a stable relationship. And he's as old as her dad, not a good reason, but it bothers me.
NOW YOUR TURN

I don't "ship" in anything I write. I think it's a stupid idea and from the prospective of a writer (I take the act of writing, even fanfictions fairly seriously) it's childish and insulting. A good author ought to be able to get even the oddest of crack ships to work, and the idea of not writing a romantic pairing because you "are squicked" by it, or denigrating/assassinating a third character just to achieve your "ship" (bastardizing Ron to get Kigo for instance, or turning Kim into a witch on wheels to set up Ron with anyone) is a mark of low concept. There are pairings I find easier to understand, of course, but in truth, my longest story isn't even a shippy story, the romance in it is angsty and caused by situation, not design, so obviously you can write a story without being shippy and still have a romantic component to it. Okay, think I am going to end here since I have written four different followup paragraphs and am not happy with any of them. my two cents worth.

You seemed to have missed the point. I happen to be speaking from my standpoint as a member of the fandom, not as a writer (in regards to the ships) but I can't help but refer to my writing since it has affected my viewpoint so strongly. Ship is short for Relationship and people seem to forget that. In fandom, it generally means a romantic one. In the context of this thread Ship=Romantic Relationship between characters
So again I say, you missed the point. I said: Okay, non-canon 'ships in general. What do you love, what grinds your gears? What have you come across that surprised but did not enrage you? And most importantly WHY? And you responded in a way that did not answer any of those questions and instead attacked the idea of a writer being a shipper. Please don't derail this so quickly. I want to know what people think about the ships themselves, not the very idea of shipping.

I'm extremely flexible with pairings, and I firmly believe the crackiest of pairings CAN work as long as it is well developed. I'm usually attracted by ships because of the chemistry between characters and their potential interaction...not to mention that I have rather odd tastes, and the ship I enjoy the most writing of is probably Killigan/DNAmy Anyway, this doesn't mean I cannot ship any of them with anyone else or write/like/read other ships (like, say, Drakken/Shego, or Kim/Ron, or Drakken/DNAmy, or Motor Ed/Adrena Lynn, and some others that would most likely squick a lot of people XD). And, of course, it doesn't mean I cannot write/read/like a story in which romance doesn't play a role. I don't think being a shipper is "stupid" for writers - not as long as said writers doesn't get fixated on the ship to the point that they starts ruining anything good in the story and the characters that aren't parts of the main pairing, and I assure you not everyone does that. For example, take Ninnik Nishukan: she is a D/S shipper and a writer - a really good one, and her D/S fanfics are among the best fics I ever read in the fandom. Both characters are perfectly IC, behave just like themselves, and the general writing is great: shipping a certain pairing doesn't automatically make someone less of a writer. It all depends on how the writer in question handles it.

Who's Roachie? oh, who cares? ;DKim/Roachie rules ;D Back on topic, I like Kim/Ron, because they're just too cute together. They're the typical highschool sweathearts, but they also have the long friendship. I also like Drakken/Shego, but with these two, I just love their interaction, whether friendship/romance or whatever relationship they have, I don't really care.

Who's Roachie? oh, who cares? ;DKim/Roachie rules ;D Roachie was at one time Ron's (apparently sentient) pet cockroach. To whom Ron learned to speak. Yeah, that's right-- Ron spoke bug.

Do I Approve Of Ships? Certainly, if they don't sink when I'm on them.

Wow, thanks. Sometimes ignorance is a blessing. Not that I hate bugs..., but I hate them. Still, it's Kim's decision, and she must pursue her true love, so yes, I'm still a Kim/Roachie shipper. We will just have to smooth out our differences.

...yeah. True love. *looks at Kim's pre-fainting face in screencap* And I pretty much agree with Pengychan. There are some ships I will not read/write because of my religious beliefs (slash, that is), but I don't let my preferred ships block my writing. If you read any of my few romance scenes that I've written, I keep it pretty brief, simply because I'm not experienced in relationships like my characters are. But I can still write it. And I admit it is great fun to write crack pairings non-seriously... it is one of the things I can write and laugh at every time I reread it.

Yes, she was overwhelmed by ecstacy to be sure. Note how her eyes track towards Roachie and her mouth is moving to a pucker, one takes much inspiration from the earlier barrage of screen caps here in providing understanding of the relationship. it is irrefutably her penultimate true love in this shot.

That screenshot really got me thinking about an important question that I've never asked myself before.
Do insects have tongues?
And when it comes to pairings, I'm too lazy to say anything original, so I'll just take the liberty to agree with everything Pengychan said. As long as it's well written and the author/artist/fan doesn't act like an idiot, I'm fine with everything.
We should bring back the thread in which people could justify why they ship something. It never really got off the ground, and I for one would love to read in-depth explanations for why somebody likes Ron/Shego, Kim/Drakken, Bonnie/Wade or whatever.

Kim/Roachie OTP.
I don't really support any KP ships anymore, but I don't really have a problem with any ship I've seen. People can ship whatever they want and I'll seldom be bothered by it. It's just for fun, after all.

That was sort of my intention with this. As you can see... it didn't really work s'good >< That's probably because there have been countless threads and arguments about shipping, and I think most of us are too tired to say the same things again. I posted a lengthy explanation for why I like Monkey Fist/DNAmy in that other thread, but I don't feel like saying the same twice.
