Browsing through a store about to go out of business, I noticed several KP books. Thumbing through "So Not the Drama!" book of the "Pick a Villian" series I noticed this passage:
"In the T-shirt Asile, Kim spots Bonnie talking on her cell.
"Mother, I am so not going to spend a lot of money on his birthday present. I don't care if he's my only brother!" She holds the cell phone away from her ear as a voice on the other end squawks laudly. "Whatever!" Bonnie snaps the phone shut." (page 56)
So are the books part of KP canon and, if so, what could be the details of Bonnie's mysterious brother?

OK, that avatar is really creepy. But I digress. I've never read the books, so I wouldn't know if they're canon. Nor would I know what details on Bonnie's brother.

I have those books. There's like 4 of them. They came out in 2005. There's a large majority of fans who say that unless it's said on the SHOW itself, or even by TPTB (or The Powers That Be: Bob, Mark, and Steve)... it's not canon. But, in regards to her brother. That's the only mention I've heard of him in anything KP. Unless somebody can recall him being mentioned somewhere in the show, that I can't recall. So, I'm just going to go with... these books are supplemental to the series, in the way that they are companion to the series. I don't have any problems considering them to be canon. You should ask this of the VIPs. I'm sure Bob or Mark or Steve probably know.

There's an indirect mention in 'Hidden Talent', when Bonnie states that her older sibs have won the talent show four years in a row.
'Sibs' - short for 'siblings' - usually refers to a mix of brothers and sisters, so that suggests she has at least one older brother (in addition to her 'much older' sisters Connie and Lonnie).
That may be where the book got the idea from.
If students were only allowed to compete in the talent show once for some reason, that would make Bonnie the youngest of five kids.
But this, much like everything now, is moot at best ...

as a general rule, books are not considered part of cannon to any TV or Movie fandom, you can look at Star Trek, Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, etc...
the author of the "trade paperbacks" are not on the creative staff of the show, and often just contract writers with only a basic working knowledge of the show (this is especially true of many of the star trek books, 300+ of them) and are relying on their editors or friends to make sure it sounds right for the fans.

OT but actually, every published Star Wars story has to pass through Lucasfilm to make sure it doesn't clash with already published material, otherwise it doesn't get published.

I wonder about Bonnie's dad. He has never been referenced so where is he?
