If Jesus is God, then why does he still Pray to God? Something to think about .... yeah, but... when jesus was sent to earth, it was as God's Son, who still needs to talk to his FATHER...

Jesus appears to be omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and have many other God-like abilities but was He an avatar or a divine prophet? It is very likely that a man did live and did preach the "Good News" but was he special? I would say yes.
The only thing I disagree with is God being omniscient. I believe nothing can know everything. It doesn't seem right for Him to know who will sin before it happens, which provides no free will to us.

[glow=blue,2,300]Do you know why the other symbol for Christians is the fish? It's because the Greek word for fish "Ichthus" or "Ictus" is an acronym for "Jesus is the son of God, our savior." [/glow]

well,, God made al of us... and he may KNOW what we are gonna do... but we chose to do it.. he just knows we will. it is totally our own actions, and he totally knows wutz comin up. Perhaps, but it is the fact that God created the Universe, in which He then knows all possible outcomes of everything. So if someone were to make a decision, God would already know about it, and God has set up all the factors that affected that decision, it is not up to us but to God to decide how we choose.

So if someone were to make a decision, God would already know about it, and God has set up all the factors that affected that decision, it is not up to us but to God to decide how we choose. If that were true, none of us would be here. The only reason we are on this earth is because He wanted to give us a choice: heaven or hell; those who believe on His Son go to heaven... the rest go to hell. OUR choice. If He had made it were He decided, we would have all been created in heaven. o and God set up the factors for our choice, and based on that choice, the domino affect begins. right... we're stepping up- wrong.. we're rapidly falling. that is- rejecting Christ or accepting Him. But God won't easily give up on you. He'll keep knocking on ur door for quite some time. But he wont force his way in. It's a one-doorknob door, and its on ur side. OPEN UP! ~K~<3

If He had made it were He decided, we would have all been created in heaven. All I'm saying is God cannot know everything, otherwise what I said before would be true. As such an example: "There is a light switch on the wall; God may either turn it on, or leave it off; but, since God already knows the future, God knows that he will turn it on. That is part of his knowledge. But what if God exercises freewill, and chooses not to turn it on. Is this possible?" So if God knows everything He would have to observe everything, since all His choices are already made. That is unless he isn't omniscient.

God made things like the stars to tell those who cannot know of God that there is Someone out there that was in charge of all of this. Those who worship other gods need something to depend on, so they make them up and pray to them to feel like they have a purpose.

I don't know where you got that from, and why they would tell people that... but there is a purpose for all of us. A deep love, a calling. He wants your love. He wants your obedience so that you can go to heaven...there is no other alternative to get to heaven but by Him. just believe it, and ask for his forgiveness... since you have sinned as we all have sinned. and it's YOUR move. only you can decide. this cannot keep being a debate.

I haven't been following this thread, but am very much enjoying the discussion I've been having via PM's. And the only way this will stop being a theological debate is if people stop posting. You can't change peoples belifes, that is beyond the powers of people, and it is not their right to do so. Only God can change beliefs.

Absoutley right, only God can decide. And what of Heaven? An eternal peace makes life seem pointless to me. To me, Heaven has to be a harder yet better life than living here.

well bigpenguin, to be frank, getting into heaven IS very simple... if u want to get into all that, heaven is achieved by being saved. the alternative is hell. does hell not make life seem even more pointless? and further, the actions we do for Christ are additions to the rewards you get in heaven. Any good thing we do for Christ are counted but a dirty rag, but He returns it with rewards in heaven. imagine his gr8 luv 4 us to do that.. and imagine what good works for OURSELVES must seem to Him. j/a thawt. oo also... getting saved is very simple, too. it is a gift He has set before each and every one of us... from the innocent five year old to the seventy-year-old serial killer on his death bed. we all have made mistakes, performed sin, but Christ paid the ultimate price. ~K~<3

Jesus was black, as where most people B.C. (well, i believe he was)
Jesus had 12 buddies which are known as his disciples.
Jesus was born in the year 0.
Jesus is the son of god.
Jesus was male (contrary to popular believe)
Jesus woke people from the dead. One of them was a friend of him. I believe John the Babtist (?)
Jesus was a skilled wood-worker, trained by his paps.
Jesus once fed a huge crowd of people by breaking up a few pieces of bread and some fish.
Jesus cried blood the night before he was killed. This does happen when people are extremely scared (of death).
Geeh. I can tell a ton more...

Jesus was black, as where most people B.C. (well, i believe he was) Actually I believe he was more middle eastern than black. He wasn't white. That's more of a European design thanks to the cruisades Jesus had 12 buddies which are known as his disciples. Baring Dogma, there is actually evidence that there was more than twelve. Some feel that Mary Magdalene was a disciple. Jesus was born in the year 0. It's generally understood that he was born in the 4th year as that's when the census took place. (Having to room in the manger because there was no room in the inns, etc.) Not to all religions. Some faiths such as the Jews believe he was just a prophet. Ask Ronald. Jesus was male (contrary to popular believe) Probably. Jesus woke people from the dead. One of them was a friend of him. I believe John the Babtist (?) John lost his head. He wasn't raised. Jesus was a skilled wood-worker, trained by his paps. Yup Jesus once fed a huge crowd of people by breaking up a few pieces of bread and some fish. Yup. Jesus cried blood the night before he was killed. This does happen when people are extremely scared (of death). Yup. (The second part. Don't know about the first.)
