I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church faith. I've even gotten several sacraments in the Church. But, after writing and learning about how I believe, I decided that I am more of a Christian then a Catholic, because I am too openminded. I am not religious, but, I have belief and faith in Christ. I believe in God, and I believe what Christ did to save us. I believe what Christianity teaches: Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.

No offense, Ashley, but I actually find Christians to be more close minded than Catholics. Of course living in the exact center of the Bible Belt surrounded by Bapists might have something to do with that.
The lady I mentioned above made sure everybody knew that she was a Christian. And she wasn't the only one I've met like that.
I just love going into local supermarkets and hearing "Jesus saves!" from the cashiers. *sigh*

Both Catholics and Christians are generally closedminded, but if you knew me well, you would know I'm the far from closeminded...

I'm a Protestant, which is odd, because I support evolution in some form.

Jesus woke people from the dead. One of them was a friend of him. I believe John the Babtist (?) Drmike is right, John the baptist head was chopped off, placed on a plate, and presented before a woman who hated him. Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from the dead.

Frankly I am a believer of God and Jesus, but seriously, this thread is gonna rouse a religous debate.

Well, we're already discussing politics in the general thread, thanks to your truly.
I am not your average Christian. I am more along the lines of a "Robert Langdon" Christian, so to speak.

Whoa...were'd this thread come from. That WAS one heck of a bump! lol
And as long as people don't start flaming what others believe, I think we can have quite a civil chat about out faiths and what we believe. But please, lets not let this get out of hand.

Jesus woke people from the dead. One of them was a friend of him. I believe John the Babtist (?) Drmike is right, John the baptist head was chopped off, placed on a plate, and presented before a woman who hated him. Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from the dead. From the Wikipedia article: A conflict took place between John and the authorities at that time. A tyrant king, Herod Antipas, the ruler of Palestine, was in love with Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.
On hearing the ruler's plan, John pronounced that such a marriage would be wrong. He would not approve it under any circumstance, as it was against the Law of the Torah.
John's pronouncement spread like wildfire and he was put in prison, at Herodias' request. At a dinner party for his birthday, Herodias' daughter embraced him, and Herod embraced her and offered to fulfill whatever she desired, up to one-half of his kingdom. She inquired to her mom as to what she should ask for, and was told by Herodias "the head of John the Baptist on a platter." She hurried back to Herod to give him this request. Not wanting to dishonor his oath to her nor to disappoint the elders at the party, he ordered John be executed and his head was served on a platter to the daughter. Jesus raised a number of people during his time on earth.

Two of my main clients with my webhosting is a retired Pentecostal priest and a High Priestess of the American Church of Chaos. If they can get along....

I don't think it's bad at all to talk about your Best Friend... as long as you're not putting Him down! ~K~<3

Home grown Christian, here.
I got a little... rowdy when I was in HS, but when you wake up and realize that you shouldn't be here 'cause of some of the stupid stuff you've done, you tend to reevaluate things.
I don't like to claim a demonination, 'cause I was brought up in a bunch of different ones because of travel (everything from Southern Baptist to little Community or Bible Churches) and I figure if they are preaching the Bible, it don't matter what sign hangs out front. I now go to the local Church of Christ, and am involved in co-teaching a Bible study during the week.
I'm not perfect, and if I ever claim to be, someone please shoot me. I try and keep my nose clean, but sometimes that "apple" just looks too good to turn down.

I believe in a God, but i dont know who he is really. Although i guess i am Christian, i dont really follow it that closely at all. I know quite a bit about Christianity though. I'm sort of undecided about my religion, though i like the Buddhist faith, it seems so nice and peaceful. I like that Jesus died when he was 33.
