Why not? I'm talking about the original being so good that, 30 years later, they still felt it warranted a sequel.

Because I said so.... you mean the prequel it got? The one you just insulted? Or are you referring to The Thing from Another World, which didn't get a sequel and instead got a remake?

Not good enough. It's not an insult to say it lacked the claustrophobic feel that made the first one great.

Pfft, wrong, wrong, wrong.... yes it is. If you're claiming that's the reason the first one was good - which it wasn't - then you're saying they missed the ball entirely.

...House is a more legitimate doctor than Phil! Wrong! The claustrophobia wasn't the only thing that made the first one good! The prequel would have felt a lot better if the trailer didn't spoil half the transformations!

No, he isn't. Phill actualyl has a pHD. Hugh Laurie doesn't."Feeling better" doesn't make it better.

House had a real MD overseeing all scripts. Phil has a doctorate in... what, computer science? It really does. The whole thing from the first one was the unknown, how everyone was suspected, how even the viewer was brought into it, how nobody set up to be the Thing actually was. The trailer for the prequel showed three transformations and an attack. That's like, half the surprises of the whole movie, spoiled.

Psychology.I wasn't "brought into it", because it was boring as all hell. The movie was not interesting, Sally.

Some doctorates take way more effort to obtain than others. I could get doctorate in international business. Doesn't make the whole field any less of a Common Sense 101. The Americans die?

Yes, to the world! Medical doctors are FAR more valuable than psychiatrists! The prequel has more action. About 25 minutes revolves around Splitface.
