I got to say Mufasa, but barley beating out Prime. Mufasa was betrayed by his own brother witch made it even sadder.

I think girls are leaning toward The Land Before Time, and the boys are going for Mufasa. And ye gods, I heard about Judith Barsi's murder a few months ago and was thoroughly shocked.

I voted for Mufasa.... but it was hard. Lol. And, yea, I just recently heard about Judith's death D,: I cried SO hard. And then I re-listened to "Concrete Angel" and cried even more >__>

Mufasa kicked his fair share of butt in that movie, and he loved (but I don't believe he ever fully trusted) his brother. And when that look of realization crossed his face when Scar caused him to fall off the cliff, it was the ultimate betrayal I think anyone could endure. To top it off, Simba was left to fend for his own while his uncle tried to kill him. He was betrayed even in death! To top that off, Scar ran the pridelands into the ground and struck his brother's widowed wife. Such disrespect only adds to the tragedy.

I actually balled like baby when I saw Land Before Time. When Littlefoot's mother dies it's heartbreaking. And it took another nine movies before they even showed Littlefoot's father! (voiced by the Man, Kiefer Sutherland!)
So, I'm sorry guys, but the last bit of interaction between Littefoot and his mom and sad. Plus that beautiful music at the end of the movie made the movie an absolute hit, but sad movie.

(voiced by the Man, Kiefer Sutherland!) So, I'm sorry guys, but the last bit of interaction between Littefoot and his mom and sad. Plus that beautiful music at the end of the movie made the movie an absolute hit, but sad movie. That actually really bugged me. "The Great Longneck Migration"... if I'm correct in the name (it's one of the ones I actually don't have) was probably the best after the first, but still doesn't even COMAPARE to the genius of the first.. But what bugs me is this: At the beginning of the first Land Before Time movie, it shows an egg in a "longneck" nest. Another dinosaur comes up and steal the egg, which ticks off the mother, and the egg is lost and travel down through the forest to land at the feet of Littlefoot's "mother". Coincidently, Littlefoot's egg hatches at her feet, and she decides to adopt him. In the movie when Littlefoot meets his "dad", his "dad" tells a story about how he had to leave Littlefoot's "mom", while she was preganant with him, so that he culd go and find a new home for the family. LIES LIES LIES LIES. Littlefoot isn't even his "mom's" biological son, and therefore, .. his "dad" isn't even his "dad". Poor Littlefoot doesn't even realize that neither of them are his actual parents, and he'll never know who he was. This plot mistake was probably made due to the carelessness of the creators. See, the original creators who made the first stopped after the first, because they didn't like the idea of sequals.... so, some other people took over and made it more "kid friendly and educational". Just had to get that off my chest.

I still remember the first time I saw the Lion King. I was around four or five years old, I think, and when Mufasa died, let's just say I bawled my eyes out big time. Granted, as a little kid I wasn't thinking of the death in fancy terms such as 'tragedy' or 'familial betrayal,' but what I did see was that Mufasa was the good one and Scar was the bad one. Being pretty idealistic at the time, seeing the bad guy actually get his way was pretty emotional and jarring.
Watching it now, while I don't burst into tears, it's all still very sad. I think the part that gets to me most now is the part where Simba nudges at Mufasa and when he sees that his father is gone, proceeds to curl up next to the body.

I think I would have to say Bambi's mom it's not so much sad as it is shocking because when you think about it, it's Disney's darkest moment ever on film and that's what makes it kidda sad....

I have to watch the Lion King again soon. Do you ever notice when Mufasa is on the cliff and he slips for a second, he says Brother twice. Or, it was the cliff. Scar is pure evil. I sometimes forget that.

Aww, he's just misunderstood. I was amused at how Scar was British, and Mufasa was American ^^ LOL! Isn't it always like that? The villains are so often British, French, Nacospeak or Russian. Sigh. It would be neat if it was the hero instead. OMG! Mufasa's winning? Jeez. Take a look at this, folks: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEECI6JDPf8&mode=related&search=Littlefoot's mother kicks Mufasa's ass when it comes to dying. ;D It made me cry again. And hahaha, they even talked about the Circle of Life in The Land Before Time, LOL!
