The villains are so often British, French, Nacospeak or Russian. LOL Europe is evil You know, you guys should watch James Bond. He's like, the only good British guy in movies. Mufasa is winning? How can this be? Very simple. Littles Foot's mother died a very sad, tragic death in the defense of her child. She clinged to her life long enough to say good bye. Mufasa died a tragic death to save his child. But what sets them apart, asides from the fact that Mufasa's corpse was found by a shocked Simba, is the aspect of betrayal. Mufasa was killed by his brother, who used his son to lure him into a trap. Afterward, Scar sent the dogs after a defenseless Simba. Much, much sadder. Plus, MUUU-FASAAA!!

And plus he told Simba to never returned.
God, how I love the Lion King.

Though he wasn't the most likeable character, and not one of my favorites, but it was sad the way Jet died on Avatar.
They better not kill of Ty Lee in the new season.

Snitter and Rowf in the Plague Dogs. .____. I'm half-way through that now - it's a great book. I didn't know there was a movie made of it.

I FOUND MY LAND BEFORE TIME VHS!! <3 I'm watching "The Land Before Time" right now!! I haven't watched this movie is YEARS. And let me just say.. THE ANIMATON AND BACKGROUNDS ARE AMAZING. Like, I know how technology was back them, but really.. the style is breathtaking. I don't know why they went and made it so much more cartoony with the sequals (well.. I know why). The first really isn't all that kid-like. The style of the dinosaurs is like.. realism/cartoon. I really love it. And the T-Rex is actually HELLA SCARY (unlike in the sequals). And I'm surprsied they're always so scared to go out into "The Mysterious Beyond", becuase, really.. they were born there, and had to travel through it and stuff. But, is it just me....? Like, I know for ratings and all, they had to make Littlefoot's mother's wounds not look TOO bad.. but, really... they only look like a couple of bites wounds.. nothing serious. I CAN'T SEE HOW SHE COULD'VE DIED FROM THOSE LITTLE WOUNDS?!!? But, anyways..... the expressions and animation and style is simply beautiful. I've barely started the movie, and it's bring back so many memories and loves for TLBT <3 Edit: I also noticed that Littlefoot was kind of a purple-ish back then, and had kind of a blush on his cheeks that made him look extra special. AND WHY THE HELL DO THEY NEVER MENTION HIS MOTHER (LIKE HARDLY) IN ANY OF THE SEQUALS?? She was so important in the first film. :,C Also, I totally never noticed the racism issue being poked fun at I was too young and naive to see that!!!

I think the only time Littlefoot's mother was referenced in a sequel was when Littlefoot was singing "Always There" while looking to the sky.

This is not from animated movie or tv series, but from a book, with the sujects of dead animal mothers,
Barber's mother in the first Barber book. A hunter just shot his mother dead right in front of him, and he was an orphan.

Nevermind, doing some research his mother died in the first episode of the tv series. I never really saw the series, more familer with the books.

Snitter and Rowf in the Plague Dogs. .____. I'm half-way through that now - it's a great book. I didn't know there was a movie made of it. The movie was made by the same people who did Watership Down (WD also being by the same author of Plague Dogs), but it never became as popular because the subject matter was seen as too adult for kids, and too childish for adults. Of course, if you're reading it you know it's in no way childish. It's a really well-done movie, though the US release had about ten minutes cut out of it in an attempt to make it less traumatizing. =P Blurrr. I could talk about that book/movie all day. XD Pop over to my thread when you've finished reading it! I can also give you a link to where you can buy the movie for five dollars on dvd, if you want.

Mufasa's death is by far the saddest. He was murdered protecting Simba! That's sad.
Never saw Bambi though and I haven't watched the Land Before Time in forever (so I don't remember how Littlefoot's mother died)
