I'd be happy to have a chat about it when I'm done Zeki, thanks for the invite ^^. I do have a feeling I won't finish it for a while though. My cat's lymphoma has been getting majorly worse, and it's too depressing right now to read about animals and suffering.
So far I read up to the part that Snitter is reunited with Rowf after Ephraim is shot.
Definitely a very grim book, but I guess it needs to be to get its point across. I <3 the characters, especially Snitter and the Tod. I keep wanting good things to happen to them but I suppose that would take away from the impact the book is meant to make.
I can talk about books all day xD, well ones I like anyway. *Waves to Arty*
I will have to get the DVDs for both Watership Down and the Plague Dogs. I saw some screencaps, it looks well done (in a 70s way anyway).
Panther, I hope you like the book too ^^

I don't think there IS a DVD for the Plague Dogs, or at least the better uncut version. The only place you can find that is on the internet. It's uploaded on YouTube but I do'nt know where else to get it.

I found one version online - not sure if it's the good one or not.

There are two DVD's - the cut version, available most places, and the uncut DVD, available on in Australia and playable only on Australia-region players.

The Land Before Time was the first movie that made me cry. The sequels were Donkey dung, though. Yes when little foot's mother dies. And you can never beat the oringnals! The first is always the best!

I picked "Other": It's a tie between the death of Tarzan's Parents in the beginning of the movie and Stitch's temporary death in Lilo & Stitch 2

Ok, I feel the need to share my Lion King story.
Picture it. Sunday afternoon, opening weekend fo the Lion King. Its a sell out in the largest screen at the Galleria in hatfield. Its packed mostly with families, young kids, the under 5s .. and then there's 10 of us ... drama students ... all squashed down one side row .. I am sat against the wall!
The sound quality is brilliant during the stampede, plus that amazing musical score .... the dust clears, Simba approaches Mufasa's broken body ... the entire cinema is silenced in shock ... then an almighty sob goes up from in the crowd. About 500 people turn to see the poor child overcome with grief ... which just happened to be me .... I was 24 at the time ......

Wow.
It's funny, because I have no memory from seeing the movie other being upset that it was constantly sold out and then I finally saw it.
I do remember some woman telling me that her daughter (I was 7 at the time) got upset when the two lions fought. LOL. That was my earliest time with spoilers. Haha.

This is a tough choice, but I will say Mufasa. His death was just disturbing when I first saw it because he was betrayed by his brother.

I remember a scene with Dumbo and his mother through some bars on a train being very sad. I don't remember if she actually died though.

If everyone here had seen Grave of the Fireflies, the results of this poll would be very different.

He should have. Would have been a far better film. Really would have tugged at the heart strings and made a very artsy point about life and death.
