You actually watch Gone With the Wind or Titanic or any movie over 3 hours in the middle of the day.
That's a total of once with me, when I saw Titanic in theatre.
Now watching a movie of those length at that time is a waste.
I remember once I actually spent an entire day watching all the Land Before Time Movies I had (which was a total of 7 at that time).

You actually watch Gone With the Wind or Titanic or any movie over 3 hours in the middle of the day. I've watched the entire LoTR trilogy (Director's cut extended edition with deleted scenes) starting around noon with some friends. 15 hour movie marathon, the only breaks were about 15 minutes between disks when we ran to the quickshop down the street a few blocks.

I adore the extended Fellowship ... The Two Towers is imrpoved by being extended ... but Return of the King ... yawnfest or what? thought it was dire.
