Cool new wallpaper, right? Wrong.I have no clue what this is at all. This is on my dad's (old, now my brother's) laptop, and this is what happens. You can sort of see around it (look at the second picture, you can see a side of the Brewer's baseball logo), but it just stays there. I'm a pretty techy girl myself, but this both confuses me AND my dad. We're either thinking my brother got mad and hit the laptop closed with his fist and now lying about, or a virus. Help?

That screen has been hit, hard Either from the front or possibly sat on while closed if the case isn't very thick...

Help? your screen has cracked. the liquid crystals have been destroyed and or dislodged from their locations. there is no way to fix it. you have to replace the monitor or replace the LCD That screen has been hit, hard Either from the front or possibly sat on while closed if the case isn't very thick... yep, either you sat on the monitor, it was punched or pocked at too hard, or something fell on it

Well then, my brother better start saving up his money from McDonald's then. Because there is no way he is messing up my dad's new one.

the manufactures do not cover this type of damage to the LCD. that looks like a 15 inch monitor... you are looking (if you can find a replacement, it looks a little old) at about $200-$300 for a replacement monitor, and probably around $100 or more for labor
i have replaced laptop monitors many times, and that is about the average cost of replacement.

One word: violence! ;D EDIT: Hmm, it actually looks like someone has hit it with a fist with the strenght of a falling brick What the heck have you done? It's really not something that just happens, you have to be pretty violent.

Holy crap, someone punched it too hard or something because something like that doesn't just happen automatically, its been wrecked. :O

I wonder why your Brother would get mad at the computer. If he punched it or got itlike that on purpose...Maybe Baroque should have a talk with him.

It's really not something that just happens, you have to be pretty violent. I didn't do it! I swear! My brother's the violent one. He usually plays his game out in the living room, and the laptop is nearby. When he gets mad, he hits stuff and yells. I wonder why your Brother would get mad at the computer. If he punched it or got itlike that on purpose...Maybe Baroque should have a talk with him. Yes, Baroque needs to give him a good talking to about computers.

LOL. Okay I believe you ;D But he really has to be very violent to mess it up like that. I still think it looks like it's been sat on, some kind of large pressure right in the middle...
