When I find a song that I really like, I typically go to another room of our house where our professional system is (Huge PA style speakers ) And I turn up the dial to about 80% of the max, just enough to make the floor shake ;D. I know that that is extremely loud, but for a change, I pulled out the sound meter to measure the level from a table that sits in the middle of the room. The c weigh (aka bass was 120dB (as pictured), and the treble (a weight) was 110dB. Thats loud considering that 135dB can begin to sound like a jet engine How loud do you like your favorite music (dB levels aren't required ).

I don'T like to hear my music loud. Even if I have earphones on, I can still have a conversation with other people, while the music plays.

I play my music loud enough so that I can't hear my mom when she wants me to do something(using p.c. speakers from SONY).

I find that wearing headphones is a good substitute for turning it way up, you can really hear a lot more of the music compared to normal speakers.

Not super loud. My brother uses these speakers in the basement that make the floor shake, SOO annoying. I think that has caused him to become a little deaf.

It depends on a lot of factors, with a good set of speakers and I'm alone and in a really good mood.... let's just say the neighbors (a couple miles away) have called on occasion. If I'm just hanging out alone doing stuff at home, I have it loud enough to understand but quiet enough I can still hear the noises of what I'm doing. If there are other people around, it's the same, I want to be able to carry on a conversation without having to focus on filtering out the music or lip-reading. And with headphones, I only put one in, I always leave one ear open to the rest of the world and it's never cranked up. If someone else can hear the music I'm listening to it's too loud.

wow, never thought of the headphones, I never liked any headphones but the Bose Triports, and same thing, I crank 'em up Especially when mowing the lawn. I am also surprised to hear that most of you don't crank it way up.

LOUD! Everyway I listen to music i have it really loud. It's not good for my ears but oh well. I go to concerts all the time. I always have it up Full Blast on my Ipod. Besides my Ipod I have it loud but i don't do it full blast. 90% on my computer, 85% on my stereo, and as I said 100% on my Ipod.

I find people who play music loudly irritating, more so if their room isn't sound-proof. Even moreso if their taste in music is crap. Thank gawd for iPOD's, the volume on that thing is amazin'.

Loud enought to hear someone whisper. Of course, that's when people are around...
But I don't normally listen to songs, I prefer symphonic music by Hans Zimmer, John Williams and the like.

Let me guess, Star Wars soundtrack? ;D
I don't listen to much music anymore. Far too busy on rs.net ;D Plus I've replaced listening to music with watching a ton of TV shows and movies.
I'm really out-of-touch with current music, actually. Have been since I started university.
God, I feel so old ^^

Yeah, I kinda still have pretty sharp hearing... Well you know of course unless I have tons of earwax in my ears... But I just cleaned it and I'd say... Normal volume. My humble abode's a quiet place. Yeah, that aaand I can't stand loudness.

Yeah, ditto on Fusion - you hear a lot more with headphones. Heck, I was listening to a song the other day using headphones for the first time and noticed an instrument in the background that I didn't even know was there before ^^

When I've got my iPod on, usually loud as it goes.
One of my friends claims it was so loud, she could hear it when she sat in front of me in a computer lab.
