Rufus won't die for a very long time. Stitch himself has travelled to the future with Lilo who aged and proved that Jumba's evil experiments age much slower than most people. And since he's experiment 607 he'll exist until such time as he destroys all of creation

Rufus has already explained to me that he wants me to carry on looking after his descendants if something should ever happen to him. He's a big boy now, and sometimes he sneaks out to try and get social with the mole rat colony in Middleton Zoo. So within a year or so, get ready to say hello to Rufus' 2 thru 29. But there's a lot of life in Rufus-Prime yet, so don't go countin' him out straight away.

Well, I guess that I will have to be the seed of discontent.
I don't see Rufus having any prodigy. They reproduce too fast and how could Ron ever give up any of Rufus' children or let them come to harm?
I also don't see Ron getting a new molerat after Rufus.

Or ya know, since Rufus is both super smart, and has mystical monkey power, maybe he'd volunteer to be frozen in carbonite for a future generation of crime fighting! XD

What is the lifespan of the Naked Mole Rat anyway? A few years I'm guessing, who knows, within that time he might have some offspring with another Mole Rat.
I don't know, Rufus isn't someone you can just replace, he's one of a kind. I doubt Ron would have the heart to replace him with someone else.
But that's just my perspective.

I remember reading somewhere that Naked Mole Rats are actually the longest-lived rodents around, with a maximum lifespan of 30 years. They also do not "age" normally, i.e. their metabolism remains the same, they do not gain fat or lose muscle during their elder years, and they remain fertile right up until the moment they drop dead.
Um... so, anyway, it seems Rufus could hang in there for a while.
