I always thought that was explained properly in the show. Oh well, this backstory on Bonnie should shed some light on the sitch:
Bonnie's parents meet in college in the 70s. They fell in love (obviously) and married after finishing college. Betty (Bonnie's mom) and Andrew (Bonnie's dad) had a lot of common interests. Including wanting a lot of kids. Their oldest son, Ronald, was born in 1981. They let him get away with a lot. They believed that hitting him would make him grow violent. Just the opposite occurred. He became a boxer and a father (but not a husband). He has recently turned (or whatever they call it) gay. He hasn't told his parents. In 1982 they had the twins, Connie and Lonnie. They took slightly better care of them than Ron, but they still let them take to much control. The twins still live in their house and are studying fashion in college. They work at Hooters (a bad place for respectful women to work, in case you don't know) to earn the money they need. They haven't told their parents that they work there. Number four, Donald, came in 1983. He was the product of an affair. Andrew didn't know about it for a long time. Don was the most stable of the Rockwallers. Bonnie really liked him. He took care of her when her sisters teased her. He was captain of the football team at Middleton High. He went to an out-of-state college on a football scholarship. Amelia was next in 1984. She was Andrew's daughter. She's the same Amelia we see in Animal Attraction and The New Ron. She's not going to college. She wants to be a model. Bonnie was the youngest. Born in 1982, she wasn't given the attention she should have been. She met Kim and Ron in 6th grade. She had a crush on Ron. She once went over to Kim's house. She liked Kim's family at first. She would have look to them as a family of her own if things had gone differently. When she was taken home by her brother, Ronald, she found her parents fighting. Andrew found out about the affair. After a few months, they devoiced and Betty married Joshua, the man she had the affair with. Bonnie thought that it was her fault; that, if she had been there, she could have saved her parents marriage. She then blamed Kim for bringing her out of her house. She also began to turn on Ron. She was letting out her anger on him and began to blame him for her anger. Kim and Ron never knew this. In fact, I'm not sure if even Bonnie knows it.
Hope that sheds some light on Bonnie's character.

Besides some date mishaps it confirms what I though for a long time. I have to say that the parents breaking up was actually the cover. It really her broken heart over the fact that Ron payed more attention to Kim. Thus the reason she hates Kim. Its not because of the divorce. You got to look at the hidden stuff in there. As for her treatment of Ron...its a cover come on people. Its so obvious Anyway next backstory: How Monty meet DNAmy.

After divorcing his wife and moving to back to England, he went on-line to find an expert that could mutate him into a man monkey. Amy Hall was just kicked out of her university. Fisk paid her for the surgery and mutation. This was during the planning stages of her genetic zipper. After failing to gain Steve Barkin's interest, she moved on to going for Monkey Fist.
