March 17th. All the Americans wear green and use this day as an excuse to get drunk. I never understood the point of it, either.
I still want to do Kim's Nookie Notebook.

March 17th. All the Americans wear green and use this day as an excuse to get drunk. I never understood the point of it, either. Ashley, this is about like saying Americans use Dec 25th as an excuse to exchange gifts. Not absolutely wrong, but not the point of the day either. Raptor, go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Patrick's_Day (have to copy/paste since the ' messes up the url tags) for a good explanation. I almost didn't add St. Patrick's Day, however, with the red hair it is reasonable that Kim is of Irish decent, and thus St. Patrick's Day might mean more to her family then an excuse to drink and wear green. It also could be tied in to many Irish legends (Leprechauns, fairies, banshees, etc.) for authors who like fantasy elements. I still want to do Kim's Nookie Notebook. Keep that idea at the back of your mind. There is a topic coming up soon for which it could easily be made applicable. However, I will most likely not have it as a topic of this contest. There are a couple guidelines that I use in deciding on topics. It has to be applicable to a wide variety of characters (this is where Kim’s nookie notebook fails since it is inherently about Kim), and it has to be applicable to at least a few varieties of genre (comedy, drama, action, etc.). This allows the widest possible author participation since some authors just might not like writing about certain characters or in certain genre, and I try to make my topics broad enough that they don’t have to.

I'll be the wild one and say out of gas. Heh heh, out in the middle of nowhere. Visions dancing in my head. Either that or I drank too much coffee this morning. ;D

What about the Kim's Nookie Notebook? I was kind of hoping to write that. Hey you stole my plot device! Darn you Ahsleybenlove you think your all that but your not! Anyway for topics I guess go with St. Patty day but I haven't decided yet. I'll wait to vote on it since I've got nothing story wise. Not a clue on this one.

Running Out of Gas reminds me of something that Blanche Devereaux said in The Golden Girls that her husband and her did when they were courting and then did on their tenth anniversary. I couldn't do it with KP because it'd end up with an NC-17 rating.

I couldn't do it with KP because it'd end up with an NC-17 rating. Personaly for me it would end up with Ron walking to the gas station to get some gas. That's the entire story there folks so I just ruined if for any surprises should that be the topic.

Ooh, those are good... I'd have to say either "St. Patrick's Day" or "Out of Gas", but leaning a little bit towards "Out of Gas" since I think I can fit the idea for that one into the size limit a little bit easier...

Killer cars that try to hunt Kim and Ron down. They crash into things and the little gecko goes crazy with all the pay outs he has to give. That basically sums up Ezbok entire series.

You want to write a story about Nookie Book that has to be PG-13, but you don't think you can write a story about running out of gas under NC-17. I mean this in the nicest way, but you are weird. I like weird.
