Personally, I thought it was the best episode of s3. (Different strokes...) It had a well-done plot, the characters were well-handled and (best of all) it wasn't choked with shippiness. It set out to make me laugh. Mission accomplished.

As promised, I will post what I wrote in my diary about the episode. Bear in mind, it's long, so here goes:
Now, last but definitely not least, here we go for the last season 3 episode before season 4 of Kim Possible. And The Molerat Will Be CGI. Oh My God. I have to admit that it wasn't the greatest episode of KP that I prolly ever will see, but it was darn awesome! For those who don't know, in this episode, a major action movie director decides to make a movie on Kim Possible and Senor Senior Junior is all jealous and want to be in it. LOL. It was great. It was funny. Laughter ensued. I had fun. I got a huge kick of of the actors chosen to play Kim and Ron. Heather and Quinn. Heather played by Annaliese van der Pol from That's So Raven, it was cool to see that she's a good voice actor too. LOL. And oh my Lord, it was great! I mean, "Mysterious black choppers, follow me... to the Tower of London!" LOL. Yeah, a set in New Zealand. Now, THAT, was great! It was so funny! I loved the first action sequence in the episode. Kim and Ron getting all the helicopters tied together in this cool aeriel scene. And Kim and Ron were so in sync and so, like, a team, it amazed me. I mean, really, how many times would you EVER see that. I loved it! It was amazing. I loved what the episode did for me, it made me feel so upbeat, it did what for me is the only show to ever do this for me. I mean, I couldn't fall asleep, I was in such a good mood! I went to sleep at like 12 and a half last night. And Jimmy Blamhammer, the director of the Kim Possible movie was like, so crazy. Crashing his... I think it was Limo that I swear was a hummer, into a wall, coming out, and casually asking the valet to park it close or something as it was nothing! LOL. And he MADE JUNIOR CRY! As Dorothy of The Golden Girls once said about a cop that she made cry, "Then he wasn't much of a cop, was he?" Except, subsitute cop for supervillain. I got a huge kick of SSS being so lowkey in this episode. I loved how Quinn and Ron AND Heather and Kim kind of sort of bonded. Heather was so like... overly excited about the project and was trying to be Kim and all that. She was even using her toothbrush! How gross was that? LOL. And Quinn was all mopey and dull, "Whatever" through the whole EPISODE. I swear, after watching it for the fourth time, I was like, "QUIN!! SHUT UP!" I liked how there were words not used in a KP episode before. Husband, when Heather mentioned her husband (I noticed she didn't have a wedding band). PG-13, about a movie Jimmy was making. Butt, in that same bit. LOL. I loved how Hollywood, and L.A. and all of that crazy stuff was mentioned. Yoga and celebrity, and Moral code. LOL. I love how James Possible dislikes show folk. He is such a weird man. And his sons were... selling stuff Heather used on the Internet, a la Cory Baxter from That's So Raven when the Boyz In Motion stayed with them. LOL. I got a huge kick of the reference to past episodes and everything. Monkey Ninjas In Space for example. I loved how Charles Dickens and his work A Tale of Two Cities was mentioned by Barkin. It was great! I mean, come on, Charles Dickens was mentioned, he's the only major writer of like... all time to EVER be mentioned on KP. And I hate Charles Dickens. I'm still waiting for when Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, George Lucas, and Star Wars is directly referred to. And Rufus was CGI and the title was mentioned! That's when this KP fan will be happy! It was a great episode and it gave me something I hadn't experienced in almost a YEAR! A new KP episode! YEAH! So, the predictions. I got 33 from And The Molerat Will Be CGI correct. How many from the whole season? Upon reading through the huge packet of predictions that I made from September 2004 on, of the 381 I made, 349. Now that rocks!

after rewatching it, i need to redo my vote, i caught a lot more of the funny lines, and the plot, i would have to say it was one of the top episodes. 1: Emotion Sickness 2:Bad Boy 3: And the Molerat Will Be CGI
but that is just me

I've personally always felt that Team Impossible is number one, but that's me. After that, it would be Bad Boy. But, really, most of season 3 would be in my top 10.
I hardly can ever choose my favorite KP episode because it changes whenever a new episode airs. Right now, it's "And The Molerat Will Be CGI".

Okay, I'll stick a copy of my own first response to it here, then respond to the question of rating.
I stuck this in the reevaluation, season 3 thread, but this is where current discussion seems to be happening so—
Rating? Sorta hard to do. But let's look at the elements of a Kim Possible episode, and see what's emphasized this time and what's not:
Action: The bit with the helicopter hooks was interesting, but why don't the pilots respond? What I really liked was Heather doing a pretty good imitation of Kim on puppet strings, then getting all tangled up when Junior's henchmen take over the controls, and the last fight. About 5 out of 10 here.
Comedy: This episode not only parodies moviemaking and stars, but the KP show itself. Comedy trumps all else this time, but it's not quite as funny as Emotion Sickness and Dimension Twist. About 9 out of 10.
Romance: As I noted above, not much, but still bubbling beneath the surface. About 3 out of 10.
Angst: Sometimes the flip side of comedy, sometimes the comedy. Junior and Ron both have their share of trouble, but can't take any of it very seriously. 1 out of 10.
Subplot: For an episode as apparently superficial as this one, there's a lot. 1. Kim and Ron lapsing into subconscious couplehood when Blamhammer pairs them in his movie concept. 2. The Possible family reacting to Heather. We don't see many details, like we did with Prince Wally or the Go Team, but what we do see is interesting, especially the Tweebs entrepreneuring leading to the final joke, Junior collecting Dad's authenticated diet soda. 3. Monique and Bonnie plotting to lure Kim and Heather into Club Banana to spend time with Heather, and all the implications of this (see above). Give it 10 out of 10 for subplots. There's oodles.
Continuity: Remove this epsode from season 3, and the change in Bonnie between "Bonding" and "So the Drama" has no explanation. 7 out of 10 at least.
Characterization: As I mention above, the characters are more broadly drawn than usual. They seem superficial, and it's hard to take their problems seriously. Senor Senior Senior, in particular, seems a shadow of his usual self.
BUT NOT HEATHER. Oddly, it's the starlet who seems the most real character in the whole episode. I really felt for her when Junior's henchmen took control of her stunt strings, and catch her dejection/fear when Kim uses this apparatus as an erzatz grappling hook rope to swing around, clobbering everyone in sight.
Heather takes her work as an actress seriously, succeeds in capturing Kim's mindset without being an obnoxious parody of her (though Kim doesn't see it this way), and treats Kim and her friends with respect. She's not the cardboard cutout you'd expect her to be, given the overall level of parody.
And there's the moment in Bueno Nacho when Kim and Ron are trying to get back into character after a week of being bedazzled and disillusioned.
Despite some of the oddness, I'm gonna have to give characterization 8 out of 10, mostly for Heather and Kim, and Bonnie and Monique.
So then what, add all these components together and come up with an average? Well, no, because not every episode should be strong in all these elements. Kim Possible usually has a minimum of angst. In season 3, I'd only give Emotion Sickness, Bad Boy, and especially So the Drama points for this, but I'll be surprised if Kim ever gets more than about 6/10 for angst. Do I care? I do not. But some people like it.
So my ranking of Season 3 would be: So the Drama Gorilla Fist Emotion Sickness Steal Wheels Rappin Drakken Bad Boy Dimension Twist Bonding And the Molerat will be CGI Team Impossible Overdue Roachie
That does look like I've put it near the bottom, doesn't it? But the competition was awesome. The eight I put above it range from more than excellent to impossibly freakin' fantabulous— no way is 5/5 stars enough for most of these! So I'll give "Molerat" ****1/2, and wait anxiously for episode 401.

I'm with the (so far) majority on this one. Definitely above average, though not really the best ever. I would definitely want to see it again.
Now I crack up every time I hear "Whatever."

Also got to say I loved the fact that Danny Masterson voiced Quinn even if he barely said anything.

I liked it when Ron tried to use his grappling hook at first. The hook came out but not the rope part. And surprisingly if it did, Ron would of made a bull's eye right there. And, of course, he has definately shown some improvement in this episode so I give it a 5 star. I LOVED THIS EPISODE!

Ron was freaking.
Ron's image may not appeal to most of Middleton High, but it is very important to him. The notion that he'd be played by a "mopey" actor with a totally different attitude toward life was something he couldn't handle, rather like a replay of "Ape Island: Running of the Monkeys" in "Dimension Twist." Of course, once Quinn started saying "Booyah," even in the same monotone as he said, "Whatever," Ron was fine with him. Character driven humor, you know?

I think Ron was just insulted. I mean, Kim gets Heather playing her to near perfection - and he gets stuck with mopey Quin, who's not even giving a half-a$$ed attempt at his role.
Throughout the series, Ron has had to prove to himself, and others, that he wasn't simply 'the sidekick' - and that his role within Team Possible was vital aside from being 'the distraction'. The scene at the start of the episode with the helicopters shows how much Ron has evolved - and that he's just as good as Kim, so why shouldn't he get an actor playing him who's just as good as Heather? I think the reason Ron reacted so negatively to Quin playing him (aside from the obvious crap acting) is that it showed Ron's role within the duo was unappreciated by the outside world, whereby the public didn't view him as Kim's equal. This seems like a foreshadowment of StD, where Ron wants desperately for Drakken to say his name. Ron just wants some recognition of his abilities, and having Quin portray him so terribly just shows that his character isn't respected. Ron may not show it, but he's pretty insecure.

Great points Cloud and Nabu. I understand what you're saying. If you notice, and I noticed after looking at the show again, Kim NEVER calls Ron her sidekick, Ron, and everybody else, such as Joss Possible, Drakken, and Shego for example call him "Kim's sidekick." The fight in "Bueno Nacho" was all about that, "this is what it's about, isn't it? To be your sidekick?" I can so understand how Ron feels. One of my friends from childhood had a very Kim-personality. She was smart, a perfectionist, and all that, and I have to admit, I was insecure... it's prolly what was the catalyst that hurt our friendship for two years. But, Ron seems to deal with that better than I did. It's prolly why KP is one of my greatest inspirations in my life. When I watch the show, I always feel like being a better person. I sometimes forget the road of self-discovery I went on beginning from finding the show and falling in love with the show almost 3 years ago and continuing here.

Yes, Kim never calls Ron her sidekick. She does seem to functionally think of him that way often enough, but never uses the term. Curious, isn't it?
Sometimes, like in this episode, Ron makes a substantial contribution to the fight, sometimes he strikes one blow that makes the difference, sometimes he just cheerleads Kim— but he's always important to her success, and she never calls him anything but her best friend. She'll probably add "boyfriend" to this in season 4, but I'll be surprised if she says "sidekick."
