Makes me wonder what Shego used to do before she left Team Go. Like, what was her alter-ego...?
Also, I think the mask was just so she could say she had a costume on. I have a feeling that, like with most things, Shego isn't really all that big on Halloween. But, somehow I'm sure Drakken, with his unbridled enthusiasm for holidays, insisted that she dress up for it. So, just to appease him, she threw that mask on. Minimal effort and annoyance on her part.

Hmm, from the looks, you sure Shego didn't stop in Gotham and swiped a Robin Mask?
(Hmm, that's an idea for a costumed pic of Drakken & Shego, though Shego in the old Grayson robin suit (IT WAS MEANT FOR A WOMAN!)

Huh. Not that this topic isn't fascinating, but have you guys checked out "Monkey Ninjas In Space" recently? That animation was way worse than the stuff in "October 31st." Example: Here's Ron in "October 31st." And here's Ron in "Monkey Ninjas In Space." In my opinion, the former is far more appealing artistically speaking. But that's just me.

It's not so much the way they were drawn (Drakken looked terrible in the first scene) but the way they moved. The fight scene and the scene of Kim running at the beginning just looked...awkward, and whatever they were trying to convey with Kim's mouth frozen in an "o" when Ron was speaking just didn't work.
The only real problem with the artwork in MNiS was how glum they both looked when they rode the grappler to the roof.

I happened to notice that the art in "The Twin Factor" looks like it might be done by the same studio that did October 31st. I don't have the time now, but I'll put up screenshots when I have the chance. If you're curious, check out both episodes and compare both styles if you like.

Uh-huh. I see now what you're talking about, Commander Argus. Definitely bad animation. Is this what you're talking about, tlionheart78? Kim from "The Twin Factor." Kim from "October 31st." Edit: *gasp* They do look strikingly similar, don't they?

They do look alot alike, but in TF, the fight scenes were well choreographed. Also, judging from some sketches I've seen, TF was taken more directly from Steven Silver's work.
In Oct31st, the art and animation just didn't mesh

In Oct31st, the art and animation just didn't mesh I mainly noticed how Drakken appeared in both episodes. That was the most significant similarity between the two. And, in my opinion, Drakken's design was horribly repulsive in those two episodes (when compared to future episodes). For some reason, I felt that he looked like an old (or older than he should be) man.

interesting note, i wonder if that is true, or perhaps they had a different animator draw the cover art, instead of the people over seas, and to draw it properly, he/she used the modelsheets on how to draw KP Actually Steve Loter has said that he himself drew the cover art for "So the Drama." It looks different from the hand-drawn art from the screenshots because he used a vector program to draw it instead of a raster program like Photoshop. Bezier curves and all that. Levelord seems to make most of his fanart that way. I like the look of hand-drawn Kims better, but that's not what they use for most of the promotional art.

Never quite got the vector art stuff. PSP supposedly can do it, but I haven't delved too deeply into it.

Yeah, the drawings and animation in some season 1 episodes is quite poor, being generous. But since they were some amazing jokes and storylines in those episodes, I'm willing to let it slide. I stiil remember "The cowboy and the ballerina" joke to be one of my al time favourites. ^__^

Just noticed this thread, thanks to Yamal, the bumpmeister. Yeah, that was the randomest comment ever! Anywho, yeah - Mr Dr P is another long-lost Charmed one. This would make it likely that her first name is "Pricilla". therefore she is now (drum roll) "Pim Possible"

Generally speaking, except for very rare circumstances (i.e. the StD DVD cover as mentioned above) a good chunk of packaging and other non animation artwork is done by a branch of Disney Design Group. These guys do nothing all day except come up with product images, based on existing model sheets and such like. And I've noticed that half the time, all they do is use a handful of "stock" images when putting these things together. So yes, usually, the packaging artwork is done by somebody not connected directly to the show. So sayeth the Animation Academy instructor! (Who really wishes DDG would let him teach Kim as a Mystery Character class) --Erin M.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but in the episode Tick-Tick-Tick Kim's body seems larger and longer than in future episodes.
