OVERALL RS.NET ILL-SUITED REVIEW: 4.81/5
Well after waiting for so long (2005 to be exact) the new season is FINALLY here! And this episode was clearly worth it. I'm going to do my best to avoid any spoilers in this review for the sake of our overseas members.
The season picks up with scenes right after "So the Drama" just to pick us all up on what happened with Kim & Ron. For those of you that were worried with Ron's comment "Love is so complicated," fear not, he says it in a good way. And that is where this episode is heading, in a very good direction.
The villain du jour is Professor Dementor, which is a great change of pace since Drakken and Shego are still in prison. Anyway, he is astounded by Kim's new abilities with her battlesuit from StD. He puts his world-domination plans on hold to try and figure out how he can study her suit. This clearly irks Kim as she and Ron are now seniors just starting their new year in high school and she let the bad guy get away. But Ron has his own problems as he later overhears the wrong meaning during a conversation with Kim and Monique. Not only does Kim have to deal with Dementor, but Ron has to figure out to truly impress his best friend/girlfriend.
Folks, I want you all to put any doubts you had about Season 4 to rest. Bob, Mark, and Steve have done a fantastic job in keeping the essence of Kim Possible without jumping the shark. Though the changes between Kim and Ron are evident, they still hold that same unbreakable bond they had since the first season. I was also thrilled to see another villain (specifically Dementor) who didn't get enough air time in the past get the red carpet treatment instead of Drakken and Shego. The sense of humor and comedic timing between the characters is still flawless and clearly shows that this show is still aimed for all ages (check out Ron's comment on chess club! ). Also, the ending sequence has been changed to that of shows like American Dragon: Jake Long, and The Emperor's New School, which means more Kim Possible goodness! And, yes, all of the original voices are back (thus far), so that's always a plus in my book, so we know that what we're seeing is the real deal.
Overall, the first episode that we heard about, the first to be released, and the first to be reviewed, is a shining example of what to expect on Season four. Great job Bob, Mark, and Steve for remaining true to the show and for giving us fans this new Season. All I can say now is that I can't wait to see the future episodes of this new season.
My review score: 5/5
Concerning the Overall Score: I'll be checking this thread often and calculating the average score on the poll. The result will go in the overall section in the first post of the thread.
