I don't know about anyone else, but I was kinda disappointed that it was just Warmonga, and Warhok that attacked Earth, I was expecting the whole Lorwardian army to attack Earth. I guess the robot tri-pods are the Lorwardian Army... i suppose when you squash an ant you dont tend to bring your friends.

Have to say this, too many close guesses in one story match up to this. Ofcourse I didn't plan to have Kim stuffed. That was the most nastiest thing I heard on a Disney toon show. (Heck I just have her awake after the end of chap 3 of HBR in Warhok's trophy room. Looking for monsters and creepy figures to use for this shot.)
Still I wonder if I missed anything important at the chat for this episode.

Hmm, I still ponder on that end, did Kim just hug or did she faint into his arms and ron caught her that fast to make it look like a hug.

There was definitely more closure in this {in my opinion} than So the Drama. Honestly, I've found another Disney show to watch (Life with Derek), but KP will always be special to me.

I don't know if anyone's pointed this out or not yet, but i just noticed that ron's expression in the part 1 kiss is odd. Odd as in... you can't pucker yr lips and smile at the same time- try it!

They do it in cartoons all the time though. I just remembered one of the funniest lines from Graduation: Ron: Uh...Kim, are my pants currently on my body?

ya i kno, but still...
oh! here's my fav quotes! (drakken's flower ties kim up and the laser blasts her) Drakken: Farewell, Kim Possible... Kim: Hello Drakken.
Mr. Dr. P (to ron): you wore rocket skates to Graduation? This is also one of my favorite parts of the episode, cause he saves his girlfriend's dad! So if Kim can never get grounded if she saves her dad (according to monique), what does this imply for Ron?

I was bored, so I started to see Graduation's screenshots and found out something interesting, and since there's little places to post Graduation pics, I decided to show this here: Proof that Drakken is enough of a gentleman to don't stare at Kim's underwear even when it's a hell of show right in front of him!! (XD)

So, here we are, the series finale of Kim Possible: Graduation. Series finales are tough to crack; mainly because you have to achieve two goals. You have to provide your show an ending that seems fitting; secondly you have to provide your best effort, anything other than that can seem disappointing.
If there’s been one reoccurring theme this season it’s been change. For both Kim and Ron, (going along with that they’ve done a good job fleshing out the supporting cast a little more, from the tweebs to even Ron’s parents!) not only did Kim and Ron’s relationship continue, but we’ve had changes for both Kim(new car, tweebs in h.s., new job, new mission clothes, looking towards college) and Ron (running back, new job, giving up the mad dog, health class(well, not all change is great), looking towards college, new baby sister, interest in statistics, homecoming king, and saving the world), both characters have gone through some noticeable changes this season, though later on it would seem Ron’s changes would take precedent over Kim’s, not trying to complain mind you, just something I noticed.
But does this episode give the show an ending it deserves? Truth be told, I don’t think the finale is anywhere near as polished as So The Drama, but it does make it into the top 10, and trumps A Sitch In Time (the ending where everything goes back to normal to the point where nothing seemingly happened to the characters really soured my enjoyment of that 3-parter).
Despite the lack of action in part one, I found it to be a very enjoyable episode (perhaps more than part 2). I was really impressed with the build up to the villains in part one, but to be honest, I didn’t think the villains were anywhere near as cool as the potential threat they presented. They weren’t terrible villains at all, but for a series finale I was expecting a little better for villains coming out of the blue, and compared to say villains like Huntsclan or the Dark Dragon from ADJL (different show, I know) is laughable, I felt the writers needed to work an extra bit harder to make these villains special. I found the new villain’s (Warhok) design to be pretty mediocre and was lacking that certain presence, but kudos should go to Ron Perlman for giving Warhok a voice that helps this new villain stand out more considering what he had to work with. I was a lot more impressed with Warmonga on her second outing than her first; unfortunately a lack of proper characterization & screen time for both kind of brought this down a little. That doesn’t mean they didn’t feel like a threat mind you, they just didn’t have the same presence that Drakken did in So The Drama, which brings me to another point about the villains in the later half of this season.
Some of these new villains suffered from a lack of necessary screen time/development in certain episodes. Captain Black Eye Brown’s spirit (Cap’n Drakken), Yono(Oh No! Yono!), Warhok, and Warmonga(this episode) all come to mind. I’m not sure if Disney put a demand on them to focus on the sitcom elements more, or if there was an actual lack of focus that wasn’t placed on the villains, but it happened a few too many times for my liking.
Moving on to Drakken, I’m glad both he and Shego were brought into this 2-parter but weren’t the villains of the episode. I liked how they were forced into joining forces with their arch-foes, because the situation had called for it (Dr. Possible’s fan fic joke was a big LOL moment). After So the Drama, obviously these two weren’t going to be the focal point since they shifted back to being merely comic relief. Not that they were bad at that mind you. I liked that Drakken’s new found transformation would play a bigger role in the second part. Some might have complained about the shippy parts about Shego and Drakken, but I thought it brought up some interesting points as to why Shego puts up with Drakken time and time again. Something I wish would’ve been expanded on in another episode.
The budget for this 2-parter was obviously a lot bigger here than for other episodes. I was really digging the Michael Bay-esque visuals along with the CGI in part 2. Not to mention all the destruction that had taken place. The action that had taken place in the sky and on the ground was very well done, and at times breathtaking.
The parts with Kim and Ron dealing with Graduation and the last day of school were the best parts of the story. Ron’s concern over what would happen with him and Kim after Graduation felt realistic, I especially liked Kim and Ron’s exchanges (Ron: this whole thing has shown me that I can’t live without you.”, Kim: “Nothing is going to come between us.”). It was also nice of them to show a little more romance from Kim and Ron in this final episode, say what you might about some of the decisions made this season, but the parts with Kim & Ron’s relationship were done correctly, and the relationship and the characters in it (Kim and Ron) were done justice (we’ll ignore the Yori sitch in Big Bother for the sake of argument).
I know there are some people that have complained about Kim getting downplayed into damsel in distress, but she wasn’t made to look completely helpless like some have exaggerated. Whilst I would’ve liked to have seen a little more screen time from her, it didn’t bother me that much, just a little though (her puppy dog pout was adorable though).
I thought Ron’s big moment was a double edged sword even though there was something undeniably cool about seeing Ron step up to save the love of his life, but it felt like the other times we saw Ron’s MMP come out, but it still stands as one of the highlights of the season. I guess it all comes down to your ability as to whether you can accept Ron’s MMP(this would be the 4th time it’s been used in the series by the way); some people have complained that the MMP felt convenient throughout the series (I wouldn’t argue too hard on that point). For me, it was one of those quirks on KP (like Drakken shopping at a Smarty Mart, or Shego at a resort; even though both are wanted felons) that I came to accept overtime. Anyways it’s just one of few problems/nitpicks I have, but I don’t write the show, and it didn’t bother me that much.
Most of this show’s success comes down to the fact that the dynamic between Kim & Ron is probably one of the hardest things to tackle on KP. Both Kim and Ron pretty much balance out what the other lacks. But keeping that dynamic fresh is what is tricky to master. For Ron, you want to have him with KP but you don’t want him to look ridiculously incompetent standing next to KP on every mission, which is probably why the MMP was given to him for that certain edge, but was used sparingly. You don’t want to empower him because that would hurt Ron’s everyman appeal, but you can’t have him look like a complete joke either. For Kim you want to have her be a strong female role-model who’s headstrong and can pull through in rough situations(in and out of missions), but you don’t want “the girl who can do anything” to come across as “little miss perfect” or a “mary sue” because that could get old fast. Anyways, it’s a balancing act that can probably be a headache for lesser writers. So I applaud the KP team for keeping pace with Kim and Ron, and being able to write them as likeable to downright loveable after 87 episodes. While the results may not come across as perfect, I can’t fault the writers for trying.
I have love/hate feelings for the ending after Kim and Ron receiving their diplomas (oh and for Bonnie not receiving her diploma, I give her this as my graduation present). Didn’t really care much for the ending song like most people, some people might complain about the cameo’s from hero and villain alike, but I thought it was great just to see them one last time, except for Adrena Lynn, I don’t think anyone cares about her (I also could’ve done without seeing Monkey Fist’s statue being seen at the end, since it sort cheapens his ending a little). I liked Kim’s “Told you Graduation wasn’t the end of the world.” Along with seeing one last kiss from them as they flew to the moon.
Which brings me to probably my biggest complaint about the finale, one of the biggest plot points was Ron worrying about Kim going to college without her, but we never get a sense that everything is ok in the future, because it’s never touched on at the end, no acceptance letters for Ron, no scene of Kim and Ron ending up at the same college, nothing. Steve Loter had mentioned that one of the alternate endings was them entering the same college together, but the blasted Disney executives said no to this ending because “the ending doesn’t connect with the core audience.” Because Ron Burgundy forbid that the Disney pencil munchers allow KP to bend the rules a little to give Kim and Ron the best possible ending. Though the producers confirmed that Kim and Ron go to the same college, I can’t help but feel that we were robbed of a better ending. Oh well I guess when life gives lemons as Drakken would say, “I complain about the lemons.”
Overall, Kim Possible is going to be a show that I will heavily miss, this finale may not have been on par with or better than So The Drama; and there are a few nitpicks I have with it (the villains, Kim’s lack of focus, the ending we should’ve gotten), but there’s still enough great stuff to be found in here (Kim & Ron’s graduation tension, the K/R stuff, seeing old faces, Ron stepping up even if it was somewhat out of nowhere, our heroes teaming up with Drakken and Shego) to make people happy. With KP and Jake Long ending it seems dark days are ahead for Disney animation, heck dark days are ahead for animation period, as there are only less than a handful of shows left in animation that I care about, compared to the drivel that has taken up animation at this time.
Oh well to Bob, Mark, and Steve; thanks for a great finale and thanks for the memories you have given us these last five years. Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are two animated characters that I will heavily miss.
*****, not the very best, but a great finale non the less.
