How long has it been since the last one, I remember nabu and ash sweeping the thing i remember that as well ;D rules of the moc election well, there will be a ton of different things people can be nominated for, and you vote for which member should get which nomination. The problem is, the last one had a great list of nominations, but i can't seem to find it

I say we need more structured nominations than last time, many of which were repeats of the same idea

agreed, which is why it would be good to work/think harder on possible nomination ideas

I seriously do not care. But I remember that the last time it was very frustrating for many members that 99% of the whole thread was only about "Vote for me and I vote for you".

Just lock the thread so no one would be able to do that "Vote for me..." stuff. Or do something else like this...my head hurts.

People will PM me with their choice of who gets what nomination, and i will leave this thread stickied, and locked, but update it with the new standings

And I would also like to point out that mock elections always cause huge frustrations among the "losers". Not all of them, but many of them feel unloved and unpopular because of this. (But I say that every time and nobody ever listens to me and everybody seem to ignore all the posts of the members who complain about that too...)

Sounds like this is gonna be the first proper official mock electon. The last few were all in good fun, but yeah - I got irked by people contributing pointless categories and stuff. Keep it down to like, 20 categories this time around.

(But I say that every time and nobody ever listens to me and everybody seem to ignore all the posts of the members who complain about that too...) i am aware of that, and i do understand where they are coming from. But, the contest is as fair as possible because all members can vote for who they think should get what. Sounds like this is gonna be the first proper official mock electon. In a way, by putting yourself forward you are opening yourself to be voted on by how well you fit the categories. People vote for who they like for each category and those people win. That's the definition of an election, there will be winners and losers. But people aren't forced to participate. Maybe we should make this one so you must officially 'enter' to be voted on. That way you're only judged if you want to. Other than that, rigging the election is all I can suggest, but then would that be fair on the people who deserved to win?
