Yes on Prop 8 protesters. I respect their right to protest, but I just really feel strongly in the other direction on the issue. Since homosexuality is something you are born as and do not choose to be- it's the same thing as prohibiting interracial marriage, yet they always claim it's completely different.

"be tolerant of other people!" etc as if they just know that i'm going to vote yes, and that i should berated for it, despite the fact that i haven't even MENTIONED anything that would lead them to believe that i'm voting yes or no on it. a lot of the "vote no-ers" have a serious attitude problem, which really makes me want to not even participate in their cause. i'm on the fence with it right now, and they are NOT helping.

I live in the center of Orange County- it's like the republican capital of California. So, I'm experiencing a bit of a different perspective, but I would totally hate if people that took my stance acted like the people you're describing (and I don't doubt that they aren't shoving it down your throat- those kind of self-righteous people p*ss me off. It's why I hate northern California). Anyway, I think the best way to look at it is to ignore all the pretentious college students and people that are more interested in coming off as "politically aware" than of salvaging anyone's rights and think about the homosexual couples that are actually good people and simply deserve the same rights as heterosexual couples. I know you have likely heard all the arguments from the No on 8-ers based on what you've experienced in your area so I won't bother reiterating what you likely already know. I'm not trying to be one of those obnoxious people that feel obligated to show off all the time- I really do feel strongly about this issue.

So, this is a thread for complaining about things that annoy us, right? Hope so, because that's what I'm about to do... Yesterday, out of the blue, my kid's teacher decided that the kids in her class aren't allowed to bring candy in their lunch... and took it away! Now, I know candy isn't healthy, but what harm is one mini Kitkat along with the rest of her healthy lunch, for crying out loud? And isn't it my business if I want my kid to have candy in her lunchbox? Aren't I packing her lunch so I can choose her food? Didn't I pay for that Kitkat? But I can't complain...I just have to go along with it, and explain to my 6 year old that although every other class in the school, including her older sister's class, can pack a piece of candy for dessert in their lunchbox, she can't. Otherwise, I'll be labelled a troublemaker; a whiner; a complainer; uncooperative. Aaaargh!

Aaaargh! that happened to me when i was in elementary school... we weren't allowed to have soda for lunch. while i agree that it's unhealthy, for my mom, she gave my brothers and i a soda EVERY once in a while as a treat. when she heard that we couldn't have them in our lunches anymore, she was outraged. she went to the office and started a sh** storm that you would not believe. she felt that the school was punishing the good students because of the bad students (who would shake up cans of soda and squirt them all over the place... which my brothers and i did not...). after about an hour with my mom, every teacher was notified that my brothers and i were allowed to have soda. hahahaha, so you can fight the system. and i'm sure it felt great to my mom. i was just happy because i got to have a soda.

I get to have soda and candy. No fair. Actually, I should rephrase what I said. I never got to have soda in elementary school. In high school I sneaked into the teacher's lounge and bought soda out of their drink machine almost every day. And I never got caught. Not once. ;D

When people say Original Characters are an abomination and disrespectful to the creators of the original series but then turn around and draw slash of 2 heterosexual characters. How is that respectful? I don't have the creativity to make up my own stuff so I'll make these two gay instead. If slashing up characters is disrespectful to the creators of something, then quite frankly, the creators can bite me. yeah . . . I guess that sums it up. though I could add my own twist. and I know I'm gonna get burned for this but. . . what the hell !!! ;D ;D ;D Rabid FanGirls Raping every Game, Anime/Manga, Cartoon and Comics franchise since Time Immemorial

I went to WalMart a few days into November, and they had a Christmas tree up. I was like... "November barely started!"

The type of people who think that you have to be a part of a group to make a joke about a group! Which is funny, because they are also the type of people who fight against racism and prejudice.
