Any Case Closed Fans here? I mean the show is already 12 years old and still running.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case_ClosedTo fans, there has been a rumor that Gosho Aoyama, the creator, already has an idea of giving the show an ending. And to be honest I really want to see the ending, I mean Shinichi(Jimmy) and Ran(Rachel) are "hopefully" gonna be together. So your opinions, do you want to see the show end, if so? when? I mean there's around 500+ episodes to date and around 10 movies? Do you think it's enough? I sure do? Shinichi, Conan and Ran The Detective Boys

Well you could consider me a Case closed fan even though I have only seen the 50 or so episodes they had on Adult Swim here in the US. Now I will say that Case Closed is in no way like Kim Possible or Danny Phantom. Nor should it be. Frankly Case Closed had a rather unique story line (A smart teenage boy who's very Sherlockian in nature (He's as smart as Batman), gets turned into a little kid because of a faulty poison (This kid was initially supposed to be killed off in the first episode but it backfired so he now is alive and well in the body of an 8 year old.. However he's really 15..and his mind proves it..
Believe me If they were to end this series (after 12 years) this would be one of the longest running Anime/action adventure stories ever.. And believe me I know what you are talking about.
How should it end? Well Maybe this time the Villains try to kill Jimmy, but instead Rachel gets in the way and get reverted to the age of 8 as well. Maybe then the two of them could grow up again and live a quite happy life.. or Maybe we could have Jimmy Kudo (that's the kid's name), actually find the antidote and finally reveal to Rachel that all along it wasn't her father solving the cases, but rather him..
But when should they end it? when the fans want it to. how should they end it? More than likely they'll do it one of the ways Suggested.. at least I hope they do.
But believe me Case Closed isn't Kim Possible.. but it's the Thinking Man's equivalent..(and believe me if you have a real brain..watch some Case Closed.. it might really test your powers of logic and reasoning.. I did, and I really did quite well for being like Jimmy/Conan..believe me cracking a case is hard.. but closing one? it's even harder...

I have the first 21 volumes of the manga and am still waiting for Volume 22. I'm really looking forward to Volume 26 as it contains the story adapted into the Desperate Revival six parter.

That first picture used just gives me the feeling that Shinichi and Ran will get married and have a son named Conan.

www.onemanga.com/Detective_Conan/here's the manga page, to those who asked it... I don't know if you already know this, but there's a Project to Subb every single Detective Conan Episode in english... I feel that the episodes are free, because they always place there "This is a Free Fan-Sub, If you paid for it you got ripped"

Picked up Volume 19 of a book called "Mysteries and Secrets.
It's a book that contains information of particular animes per volume. This volume is of course for Case Closed. I'm still reading it, but so far it uses the dubbed titled for the series and the term Junior Detective League. The rest is the original Japanese names.
It is about 190 pages. It's questions and answers type information about the series. It contains a small profile summary for the major characters and has an episode guide up to "Furinkazan Murder Case".
If anyone's interested, it's $11.95.

Been posting a list of my favorite stories on other forums and will do so here. (though I'll probably add more down the line. While my list is for the manga version, I'm using the title from the anime episode for clarity. Anyway:
1. Kogoro's Class Reunion Murder Case: Deviates from the formula, and gives some depth to Kogoro (taking a case seriously and despite some subtle hints from Conan, does decent deduction work).
2. Edogawa Conan Kidnapping Case: Even with the hindsight that The Night Baron and Fumiko are really Yasaku and Yukiko Kudo, the creepiness of their characters are still felt. The story ending with Conan getting payback is just perfect.
3. Coffee Shop Murder Case: Aside from being another episode that goes outside of the usual formula, the expression on Conan's face when remembering who Eri Kasaki's face is priceless. And the ending is a good example of how continuity from a previous story can have an impact on the character.
4. Holmes Freak Murder Case: In addition to Heiji learning about Conan's secret, it's enjoyable to see a mystery dummy actually waking up and turning the tables on Conan. Plus I chuckled at Kogoro's assumption that the psychic murdered the victim by willing him to drive over the edge of the cliff, and the scene where Heiji/Conan apparently pointed at Kogoro. Of course, seeing the Holmes fans getting touchy when someone didn't get Sherlock Holmes was priceless. But face it, Ellery Queen is the best in the mystery field. (Notices evil glares) On second thought, Arthur Conan Doyle excels in the mystery stories.
5. Big Monster Gomera Murder Case: Overall, the highlights are "Agasa" being the one to point out the murderer and the Detective Boys getting in the way during the deduction (Shoo, Shoo, Go away).
6. The Desperate Revival: Overall a nice emotional story where it seems like Shinichi is back to normal, only to find out that the cure he took only lasted for 24 hours. Other favorite moments of the arc include Conan suggesting that Agasa builds a lifelike robot to act as his older self to throw off Ran's suspicion, Heiji trying to pose as Shinichi, Sonoko changing the play to include the kiss between the Black Knight & Princess Heart and Shinichi himself acting like Conan several times (such as his greeting towards the Detective Boys and addressing Ran as his older sister). After frequently reading and viewing of the final murder in the chapter, I tend to get a good laugh off Shinichi reanacting the murder by placing his arms around the murderer's girlfriend and Takagi's reaction to it).
