This is the scoop. www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/04/17/20080417gr-traincrash0417.htmlOr www.azstarnet.com/sn/hourlyupdate/234810.phpFrom what I can tell you, the teenagers were late for school and saw that a train was coming and they crashed the railroad barriers but didn't make it. Here's a video: www.azcentral.com/video/It may not run very well or not run at all. The links will tell you the rest. If i get more information which I don't think I will, I'll post more. Just thought I'd let you know. by the way, I thought I posted this already but I must have clicked Preview Post and then without paying attention clicked on something else thinking I already submitted this message and then I went all over the section and couldn't find it anywhere! Whoops! So there it is.

This is the sort of stuff that makes me sick to my stomach, and used to keep my father awake at night. They say that when you go to work for the railroad, having someone die under your train isn't a matter of "if," but rather a simple matter of "when." As for my father, during a 30-year career as a brakeman/conductor, he had it happen to him seven times. The worst incident was eerily similar to this, occurring on a foggy November night in the small town of Tracy, California. It was a carload of four teenage girls, one of whom had recently received a brand-new Ford Mustang, and had apparently decided that it was a good night to take her friends out for a high-speed joyride. Without a care in the world, this quartet of spirited speed-demons went tearing through town at over 80 mph, and headed toward the Western Pacific Railroad grade crossing south of the city, not realizing that dad was just then coming into town with a mile of empty auto-racks bound for the Ford plant in Milpitas. With the central valley's infamous "Tule Fog" being particularly thick that night, visibility in the area was down to a point where one would have difficulty seeing his or her own hood ornament, and the combination of speed and limited visibility meant that by the time these girls saw the red flashers of the crossing signal, there wasn't even enough time to hit the brakes. They plowed full-speed into the side of the second locomotive in the consist, impacting just ahead of the fuel tank. The GP40-2 suffered mostly cosmetic damage that night, while the Mustang fared somewhat worse. That beautiful car literally disintegrated on impact, disappearing into a cloud of dust and shrapnel that scattered itself for nearly 100 feet in all directions. I don't think there was enough left of those girls for their families to even bury. But even with stories like this circulating out there, people still do monumentally moronic things like these: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXvQ_wdkSZ0&NR=1www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmra0WpCIDA&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=nbfXXWYoVZY&feature=relatedThis one has some offensive language content... You've been warned: www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7YAdz__vUg&NR=1These next two are about the same incident, and are a good example of why some people simply shouldn't be allowed to breed: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMvtDNATP04&NR=1&fmt=18www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2ynhobRmOQ&feature=relatedAnd even the professionals themselves aren't immune from the occasional screw-up: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGJfNaM0804&feature=related&fmt=18I mean, Jeez Louise! How much more big, noisy and yellow do these things need to be before people will see them?

That third one I dont think is stupid. Maybe that woman (the one walking across the tracks) just didnt see it. I mean people do get distracted, and the other train in front of her probably was loud enough to the point where she didnt hear the other one. I will say yea alot of these people ar epretty dumb though generally as for the cameraman one, IDK. Mistake?

It always makes me sick when something goes wrong with the railroad. When someone vandalizes railroad equipment or when people race trains to the crossing, and especially when it involves damage or destruction to the railroad gates.
I didn't see the videos by the way because I don't like Youtube. I used to be part of youtube but it hurts to visit it even once due to some bad experiences. It's a long story.
Thanks for your comments.
